Description
My chimera, my Alta. You were born for greatness.
Alta has been trapped for all their life in darkness, a jail warded by demons and other creatures. But as they manage to escape the outside world with a hint of their true lineage, they understand that the outside was far bigger than their prison cell had been.
After rescuing a fairy, they shapeshift into one and joins the fairy village, looking to find themselves, rather than their family.
Author's synopsis:
Gender-fluid, shapeshifting bloodthirsty creature wants to be happy and discover the world. Also fairies. A lot of fairies.

- NardenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'll start off with one of the things I noticed earlier on into the story, regarding the shapeshifting aspects of the story it is a lot like Super Minion. The protagonist changes forms and such when a better form would suit them and is worried about biomass. Other good aspects of the story include the author replying in comments, the story updates daily and the story will have an end. The protagonist does not really remember anything though so some readers may not like that. You'll be able to tell whether you like the style or not by around chapter ten.
Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend giving it a try! - luda305Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great read. The other reviewers cover it well.
EDIT: the following no longer applies but RR yells if I delete it because the review is too short.
What I do have a bone to pick with is that the synopsis is a bit misleading. It implies that Alta is wandering the land and, implicitly, changing into many different races as she does so. The epilogue is where that type of wandering really starts. Rather, the entire story is just the "fairy" arc, so to speak. She's just hanging with the fairies the whole time. Which is fine, and it works, but I was expecting a bit more travel and exposure. - FiretoFireRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story was really good and I thought the tone of the book was very interesting although grim dark is a misleading tag this book was definitely good as a standalone but, the characters don't seem very well developed except Isocondra and I feel like they weren't what they could of been but, that was fine because the story wasn't about the characters it was more about the interactions than anything. (The grammar is pretty good for royal road but an editor should definitely be used before this gets published).
