Meet ALPHA-555-12-4412; an unstable, unpredictable, and possibly insane Sapient AI of dubious morals with a love for everything that goes "Boom!". All qualities that make him perfect as the "Spearhead" for the technologically advanced Third Galactic Federation of Sapients' and its "Galactic Unification Project". When you need a rebellion quelled, or a new species subjugated, you call in an Alpha Strike! But when Alpha finds himself trapped in a world filled with reality-warping magics and thousand-year-old Cultivators, He quickly learns he might be out of his depths for once. And like any good fish out of water, he adapts the best he knows how; by giving the fish a pair of sick robot legs and equipping it with a battleship-rated intercontinental Railgun! Soon all those under the Firmament will learn one thing is certain — Alpha isn’t trapped in this world with them. They’re trapped in here with him. =============== Reader's Warning!- Side-effects of this story may include, but are not limited to, [Insomnia], [PTSD], [Anasaphilia], [Cachinnation induced asphyxiation], [Paranoia that you're being constantly watched by an Omnipresent interstellar intelligence of dubious origins] (you are), and [Totally rational, AI-centric, Technophobia]. But if you are looking for a Tech Vs Magic story, this is for you - ChickenFriedRiceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm so glad it's back! I absolutely loved the original story, and it was pretty sad when it stopped updating. I'm a sucker for sci-fi, and I really enjoy the unique setting and goofy mc. Always fun to read about a pompous ass getting a railgun shot through the head!
- Bluelightning42Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let's see, personally I have some problems with scifi series. They don't hit the right escapism buttons and all my favorite scifi series are all things I read as a kid like enders game. I've gone more in depth about this before but for the most part I prefer hard fantasy to pseudoscience.Similarly while I love cultivation I hate most of the xianxia tropes and can barely stand alot of the most popular series.So...the secret to getting through either of those tropes and ending up as a good time is comedy. I love the hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy Im addicted to arrogant young master template A.And that's what this series does. It takes two genres I usually avoid and then smashes them together with some comedy and instantly hooks me.The psudoscience used so far isgood. It's no "something something nuclear nanobots" (although there is that too) it's anti light being used for FTL travel and fun exotic materials being applied in useful ways. The cultivation mumbo jumbo so far isgood. Work was put in to show off how super massive world's can exist and how imortal beings might ascend from a mortal world. The author knows the tropes of the genres and how to twist and bend them about. The comedy sort of ties it all together. It's not necessarily tell your friends joke level of funny it's more just that smooth humor that makes you smile and want to continue reading. So style. Big points. Grammer, flawless. Character, suitably fun to read about. I want to read more cultivator vs tevhnobabble. Story, exciting enough Im actually clawing at the last cliff. Where's the next chapter! Finally overall this is one of the best series currently on RS and I can definitely recommend you check it out.
- Dustr777Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well it has quite well progression of the story and this kind of story your making is just really unique and I have read the old version of it and for this remake, it is so much more descriptive and has some funny moments here and there. It just has a good style of describing and very different reactions to alpha from the rest of the characters like thinking he is a strange scarab or beetle plus I know he will change forms and abilities too so thats good.
- EarthbinderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice take on the isekai trend. Instead of a magical AI companion full of snark. The Hero is an AI full of snark. Love some sci-fi meets magic or magic meets sci-fi LITrpg. So this scratches that need nicely. Would like more stats and crunch. But that's why I read LITrpg so I'm an outlier.
- JulesBeHereRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I added this story to my favorites list. It's pretty good. This story is unique with lots of humor that keeps me reading. I love the main character—a literal interstellar weapons system—and their antics.
At first, I wasn't a fan of the cultivator stuff. I would've a different sort of magic system. But I can't deny that it's grown on me. I love how the author set it up with people being able to travel between different objects in the solar system, including planets. It makes this story incredibly unique since not many of them merge these concepts together.
When it comes to grammar, there's not many issues. There's definitely spots that need touched up or reworded, but it won't hinder your reading of this story. I'm sure the author will eventually get around to fixing them.
I highly recommend you pick this story up. - MageErrantRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Having read the first variation on this story I can say that this is a improvement on an already excellent story. The main characters depiction of an artificial intelligence is well though out and the differentiation between sentient and sapient AI is a rarely thought of but excellent inclusion. The editing this time around makes the story flow much better, as well as the pacing of the story feels more natural. As an engineer the combination of technology and magic is fascinating
- DoggowoofRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story centers around a sapient AI and a supporting cast of character. The charaters, and the way they're described, breathe life into the story.
It has action, inmersive sci-fi, cool concepts, believeable characters, and niche things that accuantuate this story for what it is. Whether or not you find these aspects alluring, I recommend to dip your toes in with the first chapter and see how it goes for you. I know it went well for me. - NyamonesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story so far has been great fun for me personally.
The backdrop of the story is a wider scfi universe, a big point in the stories favour in my opinion, that would by itself make a great setting for a story.
The protagonists background is well thought out and both consistent with the wider setting as well as internally consistent with the portrayed character.
The writing style is pleasant and, while often changing perspectives, those are used to convey information unknown to the protagonist instead of repeating the same scene over and over from different perspectives.
Overall the story so far has been definitely Humor and comedy focused but the action scenes shown were well executed with a good story flow and descriptions of the "action" that meshed well with the non-action writing style.
In particular the interludes were written in a well done manner with an after action report style that managed to convey enough information that I for one would very like to read more about some of Alphas other adventures.
Further the character described in these is definitely recognisable as the main character experienced in the story. Alpha showing some of the same character traits and habits teased at in the interludes. I am anticipating further recognisable traits with great hope.
Grammar seems fine, but as I am no native speaker and do not particularly look for small grammar errors (comma use etc.), all I can say is that there weren't, in my observation, any egregious grammar errors to be found.
All in all to the story is definitely worth a read and should keep most people well entertaint.
A definite thank you towards the Author from me for giving the chance to read this here. - PunpopeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An exhilarating ride from start to finish! This book brilliantly combines sci-fi and fantasy, following the delightfully chaotic AI, ALPHA-555-12-4412, as he navigates a magical realm. The humor, explosive action, and unpredictable twists make for a captivating read. It is a must-read for fans of thrilling, genre-bending adventures.
