Description

In a world filled with monsters and supernatural entities, the idea of schools and extracurricular activities being used to identify candidates worthy of advancing was a given.

Schools and extracurricular activities have been used as a way to provide early advantages for the children who strive to work harder and prove themselves from an early age. In this world, where academic success could literally mean the difference between life and death, many students would develop emotional baggage.

Fortunately for Alexa, she does not suffer from the problems that plague most of her peers. Gifted with an intelligent mind to start, she realized early on that applying herself to both her academic and sports competitions was the number one way to succeed in this world.

How can she do it? Shuffle studying, school work, and sports practice, all while being a teenager? The answer is simple, she has no emotions. The only time she truly feels anything, is when she increases her attributes. With that as her sole guiding purpose in life, she is determined to advance and grow her attributes as much as possible.

What can a girl do in a supernatural world where the only thing holding her back, is how hard she is willing to work? The answer, anything she wants.

How can a girl with no emotions learn to function as an ordinary student, at least for appearances sake? Simple, biting sarcasm and deadpan responses.

This is the story of Alexa Thyme, a girl unwilling to bend to a world she can't relate to.

Release Schedule: Hiatus (for now).

I wasn't expecting to write a review here on this one, but the last couple chapters really did it for me.
the whole story is fantastic. I don't think I've ever gotten quite as emotionally invested in the characters in  many other stories of the dozens I've read here (maybe more than a hundred now?).
the MC is op for sure, but the context and foil to that is done so well that it becomes lifelike despite being in a fantastical world. It's what I keep reading for.
some stories I fall behind on and end up eventually unsubscribing from bc they filled a gap where I had time but was caught up on the stories I really cared about.
this I think may fall into those which I will keep up on, or at least always come back to.  Those that I really care about.
    thx author!

Absolutely awesome! Great banter, great characters, great author. Blew through the first book and immediately needed more and came here, and thinking of the patreon next. A very interesting universe I haven't seen before. I love multiple povs, Ikve seeming other characters reactions to the Mc from inside their minds.

I'm enjoying this story a lot. Likeable main character with likeable and highly flawed personalities to learn about.
The gamelite genre isn't new but is done well here.
The main character becoming too overpowered too fast may be cause for concern but we'll see where the author takes it.
I also hope the relationship with the protagonist and her friends can be repaired quickly as I quite liked their interactions.

One of the most interesting characters I've ever come across.  What a great concept to write around.  The character is OP...but for very good reasons.  It's not just random luck or a magic device or completely unexplained.  It's the result of hard work that is driven by very human needs.
So take that, an honestly interesting character, and throw in some simply awesome story telling.  It's fun, it's engaging and I never stopped enjoying it.
Like many prolific authors on the web, the author's grammar challenges can get thick on the ground.  That's what beta readers are for (and that little suggest edits option on RR).  But if that will ruin your experience...it's the only reason I can think of to suggest not reading it.

Really enjoyed this story, read it all in one sitting. A unique set of challenges for the main character to deal with make this a bit of a special work in my opinion. The contemporary setting is also interesting, loved the Columbo call out.
I have found the overall setting and rules of the world to be a bit opaque, but things appear to be revealing themselves as the story progresses. The power scaling of the main character main be something of a problem, but curious to see how it matches up with the larger forces at play.

Warning; This review includes my opion about the book and possible speculation on the direction this story might be taking.
The Style and Grammer are top tier. Nothing that sticks out, I'm sure an editor could find things to nit pick but to the casual reader it's perfectly fine.
The story and plot are quite basic. At least at this current point, I believe it can develop into something quite interesting and complex later on, which I will explain with my speculation.
Chatecters are one of the main selling points so far. Especially the MC. It's very interesting to see how she interacts with others, and how she is slowly developing.
Speculation: The entire first book of this story gives me a big prologue vibes. seems like the set up for a series or maybe even a saga. We aren't introduced much to the world outside of the MCs surrounding area. There is no clear goal in the story, everything we know about the world comes from the perspective of the MC, who is a young teenager, meaning its quite shallow. At the current moment the MC seems quite OP, but that's only comparing the MC to T2 dungeons(and we know for a fact they go up to at least T7) and to fellow teenagers. It seems to be going quite fast paced, with a few days to a week sometimes going by in one chapter. Add on the factor the author released the entire 1st book over the span of 20 days makes me believe were just getting the taste for what looks like might be a saga. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe the MC will remain OP and maybe the story will continue to fly by. But who knows? I would recommened reading all of book 1 and a few chapters into book 2 before truely deciding if you like the story or not

This story for me gets a rare 5 stars in all 4 categories. This story is really unique on the website and I hesitate to say I've read any other story quite like it. The grammar in this story is impeccable and I've had zero issues so far. The author has a  good grasp on the english language and routinely uses more complicated words that a lot of the novels on this site lack. The setting of this novel is not exceptionally unique in that it does have a different take on contemporary apocalypse with a fully fleshed out setting that is adapted to monsters and dungeons. Where I think this novel really shines is in its characterisation of the main  character and the supporting cast. Due to that its the name of the novel the MC Alexa suffers from alexithymia which is the inability to feel emotions. The way that the author describes her navigating complex social situations while dealing with her condition is incredible. I'm not sure if the author themselves has this affliction but it is clear to me that the author has a deep understanding of the condition and it shows. I love this novel and for me it has to be in the top 10 on the website.

Alexa is a very OP character in the story and she continues to get even more OP throughout, and I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea but I  like the OP character genre a lot and I think this executes it very well! The story delivers what it promises on the cover, OP characters and Progression.
Theres not too much drawn out conflict other than the overarching ones like the werewolves and hinting at future deeper meaning and focus on the ascension trials and what happens with them. In my opinion this makes the story light hearted enough to be an easy and enjoyable read while also keeping enough anticipation to keep my focus on the novel.
I like the characters in the story as I think they're very interesting, I can't wait to see her repair hee relationship with Gina and how her relationship with her brother progresses.
So far as I've binge read it I enjoy this story a lot and I would highly recommend it if you too like OP characters, game Lit etc.

This is my first advanced review, so I figure I'll just go down the list in the order I think is best.
    Overall
This is just a good book to read.  It's not super dark and cynical all the time.  It's not a power fantasy.  The characters all have motives that fall in between reasonable and relatable.  Also, this author updates like crazy.  What more do you want?
    Characters
The characters are amazing.  There are several side characters that have enjoyable stories, but the main charcater and her direct relationships are the main focus.  Alexa is a really good MC.  I'm not sure what else to tell you without spoiling the book, but I will say that I've never fely like the author has made her 'selectively stupid' in order to advance the plot.  She aslo doesn't get things dropped on her lap all the time.
    Story
The story is a blast.  It's a fairly unique take on the lit-rpg dungeon apocalypse trope.  The story behind the system is enjoyable and makes me happy.  There is rarely any 'info dumps', but I always feel like I know everything I need to.
    Grammar
The grammar is pretty good.  There's a typo here and there, especially in the begining, but it's rare to get any better than this for a free book.
    Writing Style
The writing style is nothing revolutionary, but it is clear and easy to follow.  I had trouble imagining the scenes during a couple of chapters at the begining, however as the story goes on the writing improves fairly quickly.

Seriously well written and really funny in a awsome super hero kind of way. ( one that really doesn’t care lol ) I have found myself laughing in every chapter. The world building I self seems at this point to be a little above average but the off beat sarcasm is amazing. It’s worth checking out.  ( I am at interlude 2 so still early in the book) worth it
