Description

Toby is your average not so healthy neet. Life's been given him lemons for a while, and he sucked at making lemonade. The universe, however, seems to like him enough to give him a new chance. By making earth go under.

Follow Toby in his strange adventures while he pushes on to try and become someone that matters in a virtual universe where nothing is real and everyone are bored immortals.

A/N: This is my first time ever trying to turn one of my wild and strange fantasies into a story for others to read, and hopefully experience, trough the eyes of Toby.I'm not making any promises about perfect grammar, or even writing style, What I do promise is to make you wonder what the hell is wrong with my mind.I'm also very open to critique, and will gladly hear you out on any issue you have with my story.  This is a learning experience for me, and I hope to be able to develop into someone who knows how to communicate well with the written language. I invite you to take this journey along with me, So we can all potentially learn something.

Seems to have a nice if eccentric start, and it's interesting enough to keep me reading further. This story can go anywhere as it's VR, so I'm hoping to see a lot of crazy imaginative stuff. Could use a little better grammer, but it's easy to read despite those few minor lapses.
Give it a try and the author likes feedback as he's learning as he goes, so I expect his style to develop and enrich the story the further we go in.
For the author: don't be let down if you struggle to write a chapter its natural, keep trying and if you need advice or support pm or message me, I'm glad to help.

I don't really read much LitRPGs, but I've heard and been exposed to many of them ever since the rise in popularity of LitRPGs from the hit Sword Art Online. Since then, there are many great works that have joined the list that have garnered my interest such as Accel World, Log Horizon, Overlord etc. Even on RRL, I've been following one very interesting LitRPG/Reincarnation novel called Those Who Aspired to Become Gods.
However, if there's one thing that The World After the End offers that these hot titles don't, it is the unique perspective of being able to create the very world that you would "reincarnate" in. Most LitRPG stories often involve transporting the main protagonist into a new, game-like universe, whether it be by choice or not. Whether the main protagonist is an OP god or mortal who has to scratch his way to the top varies between authors. However, the new world which the main protagonist resides in is often pre-created beforehand, with the creation process not expounded.
That's where this story differs. The author does an excellent job of describing the challenges of creating a new world, having to consider not only the technical aspects such as geography but also the social aspects such as the ability of its inhabitants to adapt to the world as well as the possible adverse external influences from powerhouses wishing to draw their battle lines on this new world.
    Spoiler: Spoiler
In fact, life on this new world only begins officially from Chapter 16 onwards, with the first 15 chapters focused solely on the challenges of building the new world suitable for its human inhabitants who have just lost their old home Earth.
While I agree that the front few chapters may be boring to some LitRPG fans who have come seeking for action and a new taste of life in a brand new world, I must say that the author has breathed new life into the theme of LitRPG.

This is a story with a rich setting and an incredibly well set up story with an intense plot and a really fresh, unique twist on the idea of 'the end of the world'.  A must-read for anyone who enjoys a touch of humor, a lot of fun, and a more lighthearted style.  A full overview of my thoughts:
Style:  This needs some work.  I felt that it all happened so quickly and Toby just settles in far too fast.  Although you're vocabulary and choice of words are really strong and really hooking, I didn't feel like I could grasp what was happening and ended up feeling pretty detatched.  I know this has been said before, but I'd just keep this in mind as you go through editting.  :)
Grammar:  A lot of mistakes here and there, but a bit of editting should fix it.  I wouldn't worry too much.
Story score:  This, I feel like, is what makes the story such a wonderful read.  The story itself is really creative and really vivid, with a brand new outlook on the world and illusions and a fantastic plotline.  It's pretty lighthearted, but captures the new 'system' perfectly and really grabs me and pulls me in.
Character score:  As I said before, I felt like Toby's reactions weren't as defined as I wish they were.  He was the only one who was suspicious when the world wasn't 'normal', and yet he doesn't suspect Alice at all, just following her right in as she shows him that 'the world just ended'.  He's a really great character, but I feel like you need to round him out more and further define his reactions to what is happening.
