I thought I'd found a new story on here that catered exactly to my tastes, and then I realised I'd already read the whole thing on reddit. Oh well, guess I'll just have to read through it again.
If you haven't read this yet, allow me to give a brief synopsis.
Know that in the grim darkness of the far future, the very concept of plot armor is hateful and warp-tainted. By The Dice we live, and by The Dice we fall, ever in the service of our Emperor. Join whatever wacky new character was chosen by popular vote in their desperate struggle to escape the horrors of the warp for one more day, and maybe make some profit on the side. There'll be heretics to purge, xenos to slaughter, inquisitors to avoid and resources to plunder... I mean, uh, aquire, through totally legitimate means.
If you like 40k, give Aegis a try. If you've never heard of 40k, give it a try anyway, and let the fandom take your soul. Don't worry, we'll give it back later. And it won't even be entirely devoured, just a few nibbles is all.
