- ListingdragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: Honestly very entertaining. Not perfect, but unique in a wierd way. Pacing is slow when it needs to be and fast when it needs to be. Descriptions of settings and characters are all well done and fight scenes so far have been good. Writing is in Main characters POV which is honestly done very well.
Story: Please dont dissapoint. Could be lower but im giving it five stars beause its clearly building up to something nice. The build up is VERY well done. From the hints of politics to world development and future characters that could be villains. I would only say that its been fifteen chapters so I wish we were a bit further ahead.
Grammer: probably weakest part, but only in the first couple chapters. There were spelling mistakes as well as wierd sentences that didnt feel consistant. I think the author is improving as its not anywhere as bad anymore. I think he also said somewhere he would re-edit earlier chapters.
Character: Honestly my favourite part of the book so far. Characters are all fleshed out well with positive and negative traits. Tene is definetely my favourite character, but in all fairness she is the main character and we are always within her thoughts. Even characters that have been revealed for like one chapter stand out as interesting. - WintydunnoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Abyssal Rise intrigues me with it's combination of fast and slow pacing. The main character spends a lot of time stuck in the body of a baby, unable to act but able to observe and provide their thoughts on the events taking place around them. There are many, many mysteries surrounding them that are not revealed, however while they slowly crawl towards becoming a functioning individual, the world around them rapidly reveals itself, with drama and politics abound. There is a lot to take in and think about while waiting for the main character to be able to do something. Rich visual descriptions of characters and enviornments set a strong stage for the events of every scene. Stylistically amazing.
The story is currently open-ended, with only hints of the direction where it will go, but the hints are very sinister. There really isn't much to say about it, yet, however it does not look to be boring in the slightest.
Many grammar mistakes litter the chapters, however the vast majority of them are minor and easily ignored, and the more major ones stand out as odd but do not impede the communication of the work.
Finally, the characters are impressive. The main character has many, many thoughts, filling in the author on small details of how her mind works. Other characters come across as well defined without being one dimensional, signaling plenty of room for growth, especially with how many of them have mysteries of their own to be explored and aren't just a supporting cast to prop up the MC. - halfrose9Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5the book seems pretty good so far and interesting don't know how will turn out this is when only 19 chapters and I think the author has a good story in the making and just keep doing good work I guess also maybe tune down the amount of weird stuff and the people being fine with that as normally if you are different people get weird in these stories
- YatoGodRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0First of all let me say this - TOP MAIN CHARACTER!
I really enjoyed reading this story, it takes the usual Reincarnation and LitRPG tropes and gives it a little twist and shake. Absolutely wonderful first chapters.
The overall presentation of the story is excellent as well. Regardless, there are some areas where a bit of improvement would be great.
STYLE - The story style is fairly straightforward, primarily focusing on first person POV, though it switched to a completely out of context chapter in between that adds to charm if I am being honest. The story also has a really dark and serious tone sometimes, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! The switch between the various story tones are very well managed and there was also use of extravagant words that had me scrambling for the dictionary a couple of times. A really well - thought out and amazing style of writing.
STORY - The story so far is well to my taste. There are some minor plot twists, which I wouldn't be mentioning here and some portions that would make your heart race. I don't think the story has yet dwelled to its main arcs, but the build up is quite nice, although I think a slightly faster pacing would be nice because it has been over a 100 pages and no real action was introduced, to be honest. However, the last chapter that was released shows a bit of promise. I am really looking forward to the action scenes :) And another tiny issue I noticed is the power system - various aspects have not being properly explained, I have no doubt you will do so in the future, but I hope it will be sooner than later.
GRAMMAR - This appears to be a major drawback, I think. Although it does not affect the overall quality of the fiction, nevertheless sometimes the grammar feels a bit off and for me its a turnoff, it may not be the case for all as the grammar is not that bad, but it is far from being perfect. There are no major spelling errors however, and I think a bit of an effort can help you pass with flying colours on this aspect - MoonlitShadeRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I'm not going to lie, the story so far is pretty average. MC reincarnates, is a child with memories of a past life, is way stronger than the average adult as a child, ect.
This is not bad by any means, I enjoy LitRPG isekai with OP MC's. It's my favorite type of story to binge read on RR.
So far, this story is falling short on two main things: Grammar and Story.
Firstly, the grammar in the story is atrocious. No offense to the author, I'm enjoying reading it, but there are spelling mistakes everywhere, incomplete sentences, wrongly used words, and most annoyingly is the fact that a quarter of most sentences aren't even capitalized properly. And don't even get me started on the fact that, for the first 15 chapters, all dialogue in the story was italicized. I highly highly recommend the author write in Google Docs or something similar with a spell-checker, or at least copy-paste chapters into a grammar checking site first before posting.
Next, the story. It feels pretty aimless so far and I don't quite understand what exactly is happening most of the time. Also, the main character is still a child by chapter 16. I'm not sure if the whole story is meant to be about a child or if there will be a timeskip in the future, but if there is I hope the author doesn't fall into the same annoying trap many similar stories do of overstaying the welcome of the child phase. I don't want to read about a nine year old beating wyverns, make them an adult sooner than later, please. Also, there's an interlude that isn't marked as an interlude and is just no-context thrown into the story. Reading that chapter especially was really disorienting and confusing, until the next chapter cleared it up.
In the end, this story has just started and is still in its infancy. It is obvious that the author is new to writing, but that doesn't make the story bad. Every author's first story will have growing pains, and I can definitely see this story getting very good after it has a few dozen more chapte - pupproRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Good story just needs some work in regards to the punctuation/capitalization. The sentences sometimes start lowercase while seemingly random words in dialogues will be uppercase. Unsure as to why this is happening but if this gets fixed I am sure it will be for the better. Not sure if this can be reiterated enough but the capitalization and punctuation issues are rather severe and the story suffers because of it. Once this gets sorted out the quality will be much higher.
