A World in Chaos is a story about how the modern era slowly begins to change because fantasy-like monsters begin to appear all around the world. The story follows Jude Craven on his journey on how he adapts with his whole world being changed. Jude Craven isn't your ordinary protagonist as he has his own scars and trauma but Jude will grow as he experiences a variety of situations that may or may not put his life in danger.A big focus of this fiction is Jude's interactions with others so there will be some romance, some friendship, but there will also be action. I hope you enjoy reading.

- uupatrooper2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Even if you don't like the first chapter (or two?), give it at least until you hit a chapter from the Mei POV. It's worth it.
The characters in this story are just weird and broken in the best ways. They certainly aren't normal, but they're also very normal - or at least they would appear so. The MCs are introspective enough to allow the author to dive into their heads a bit, which is both interesting and helpful considering their oddities. But the author does a good job of keeping that side of things under control, so the story doesn't get stuck in their heads either. The characters also remain pretty consistent with their current-selves. They change with time and experience which is great, and they also don't suddenly flip a switch and become entirely new people.
The tone of the story strikes a nice balance between being serious and humorous. The writing style is fairly serious - the narrator isn't constantly making jokes, nor do all the bystanders suddenly shout typical anime-trope lines in unison. At the same time some aspects of the character concepts verge a little on the ridiculous, but they're well tempered by otherwise being excessively normal.
Overall, these are some of the more interesting and unique characters I've come across in awhile and it's a lot of fun to see them interact with each other. Really, just top marks here.
The world is fairly interesting. It's not exactly novel as it seems to draw heavily on established ideas (zombies, faries, angels, demons, etc) but it's far from the typical setup either. A lot remains to be explored in exactly what is happening to the world, and the author has a lot of options for how to handle things. There should be a lot of room for using the wide variety of known monsters/etc, but using them to craft a unique setting. It should make for a nice mix of being immediately understandable and relatable, while also being interesting.
Style and grammar-wise things are pretty well handled. There aren't any major formattin - ForestRageRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Nice start to a fantasy story. A story well planned out to keep the reader following. A few grammatical errors which could easily be taken care off in the future with a grammar/spellcheck. Some parts are a little hard to imagine, as the bus driver in the first chapter having the time to mouth off a full sentence after seeing that angel looking dude. Similarly the lack of response from the passengers. Look forward to reading the updates to see where it goes.
- blaze262Royal Road★★★★ 3.5Story is good and I like all the side characters, but I can't get over the main character's sudden attitude change. He was a cold calculating character in the first 4-5 chapters then becomes a hot blooded meddler from then on. Just couldn't get my head around it and it ruins the story for me.
