Synopsis:

Scott has started rewriting many of his stories, and they are all polishing up nicely. A lot of extra detail and care has been put into A Tail's Misfortune now, with new characters, a stronger protagonist, and new plot lines. As the other review mentions, it does reveal some things faster, but that only helps to set the scale of Scott's imaginative world. Other things move slower or in completely different ways. Overall, this rewrite is not the same as the first, so even if you have knowledge from reading the First Draft, you should try and go in with an open mind.
Style - 5/5
Scott has some very unique ways his worlds work and, as mentioned by both this review and the other current one, this explains the gigantic scale of them earlier on. Sora may be powerful in her own right, but that doesn't mean she's infallible or impervious. There are a lot of dangers in this Existence, and she is just a teenage girl.
The amount of care and thought put in show that this will be an interesting (and probably long) ride. All with bumps smoothed out where Scott has learned from the First Draft.
Story - 4.5/5
Honestly, I could say this is 5/5 as well, but reviews that just give full marks are wary, in my opinion. The story isn't for everyone, but it is definitely crafted to be enjoyable, emotional, and gripping. Some parts can be quite dark, and some parts may make readers question motives, but there is generally always a reason.
Grammar - 5/5
Ok, maybe I'm a little bias here, as I edit this. The grammar isn't flawless but even top-paid authors' books aren't. We've worked very hard to make the grammar read as polished as possible. I don't even want to say the amount of hours I've put in, because it's an embarrassing amount. We've looked at a lot of aspects from the First Draft and are always striving to improve--heck, in currently doing a 3rd and 4th sweep of Volume 1 of ATM right now!

Okay, I don't get the whole 'fast paced' comments here. Volume 1 feels perfectly paced to me and was quite a sad and compelling story. Sora goes from this picked on, poor girl, who has these vicious bullies doing TERRIBLE things to her to discovering her own power in herself, developing personal self-esteem, and then getting challenged on it.
Sora learns more about her family, which is BIG for the heart broken girl. It was really beautiful, and have you seen the page count on Amazon for just the 1st Volume?! What book on Royal Road has a first book that's over 650 pages?!
It is filled with SO much content. That's practically the size of the last Harry Potter book! Sora has to overcome her own prejudices, hatred, and learn to find a middle ground with girls she VERY JUSTLY HATES. But we learn nuances and secrets regarding these girls that can't help but pull at your heart...
Very emotional book that is a roller coaster to ride.
I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Plus, STUB doesn't even matter! Apparently, if you don't have Kindle Unlimited, hate amazon but don't want to support him on Patreon with the $3 it would take to get the Epub, or just would never buy it in the first place, then just ask for an Epub on his Discord.
On another note, I don't know if that is exactly 'legal' but it does show his love for readers that aren't capable of supporting him financially. That's wonderful character right there. Maybe not good financial advice to give people, but good character, nonetheless.

The rewrite started off good with better characterization but it seems like the author is rushing the knowledge drop. Like who her mother is revealed before even the half way point of book one.
The old story may have been to slow paced but being to fast is not better.
