A Story of Franklin Richardson

Description
In the 31st century, a galactic war rages—a hundred-year conflict. The Quadarium Sector, under the Interplanetary Federation of the Quadarium Sector, was at war with the Alarion Sector, allied under the Alaric United Nations, after co-existing, mutually associated, and neighbouring sectors. The endless, senseless warring, genociding, and massacring would continue for as long as the inter-sector war lasted; they would continue to hate, kill, and die; a never-ending terror. The inhumanity did not spare any, inflicting shards upon the galaxy.
However, this is not about the large subject matters at hand, nor the records, nor the heroics, nor the archives in history books; this is the tale of one man who lived, grew, and was shaped by his surroundings. A man who is only as insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but a tale to tell either way. And so, retrieved and re-published, this wasA Story of Franklin Richardson.

- Doctor FlegelRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Honestly, I see the vision. I see where the author is intending to go with the story. It's a little awkward when the earlier chapters are empty but the later ones aren't as much. I assume this is because those unfinished chapters were later added after you've already wrote what you wanted initially. I see tons of plot holes already but I'll look for every one of them and point them out so you can fixe the issues. All in all, it's a great start but a rather rough one. I do think some stuff are a little rushed maybe because you wanted to move on to a new chapter? I don't know. I've never personally met you in real life before and I just recently made this account after I found this fiction. I've made a story similar to this which was scratched and never went into the public as it was simply to incoherent and just felt like a rambling and random. I don't know where it went unfortunately :( Anyway, I got sidetracked there. So, I see that you want to essentially create a franchise of your own and honestly, I respect it. I respect the hustle. Keep up the good work. To anyone who wants to help this new author famous, I highly suggest giving him suggestions and feedback and your thoughts. Try joining his Discord server.
- Mr AlfmirRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I've been private messaging the author and I really like the path he's heading with the story. I've been giving him advice on how to make the dialogues better as well as completing the earlier chapters as well. The story is as simple as any other story.
It follows the protagonist's self-actualization and realization of truth and ends up doing the "good thing" but life is just cruel so he doesn't get a good ending.
The story is sad really. It tells the consequences of war while maintaining an interesting and exciting plot. It tells how truth can be so hidden that you end up believing the lie blindly. I've been giving the author ideas to write as well and he's pretty generous and nice to talk to. I won't be giving the story any higher score than this as it might be unfair to some degree. So I'll be giving it a four as I've already seen chapters in drafts from the author personally and they're really good. All in all, if you wanted a compelling story of humanity in the distant future and how a war on a galactic scale might work, this is the story for you. To be fair though, the story is far from finished so maybe just add this to read later until it's actually finished. - SurverRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'll start with the pros. First of all, lore 10/10. The world really looks like Asreil put a lot of thought into it, what with the intricate heaps of information that I can see in both in the text itself, the blurb, and the notes that he has left around. The parallels between our reality and the one he has made are there, as it is with most of our media, but from what I've read so far it isn't too prominent to just be a retelling of our history. From the prologue alone, I can definitely feel a few Romanian Civil War vibes going on, but I dunno if that was intentional. It's always good when a story has a world that is as rich with history and lore as our own.
However, nothing is without its faults, which I assume everyone wanting to read this would want to hear criticism on. First of all, to be kinda harshly blunt, his writing style really isn't the best I've seen. Don't get me wrong, it isn't unreadable or even bad (there are published books with professional authors that have worse, to be honest) but it's noticeable. Instead of events flowing smoothly with each word having an impact worthy of what it would actually be in the story, things just kinda . . . happen. There isn't a lot of fluff to bring the events together and flesh them out into a cohesive and well-made whole, instead it just feels artificial and produced. The best comparison I can make is to how a generative AI like NovelAI would create a story. Emotions feel flat, and things just don't have that much of an oomph. From what I can tell, it's a common symptom of inexperience with writing, and it can be easily rectified by carefully observing what authors with more time in the industry write like. It can be a bit arduous, but taking the time to measure out your story and take helpful tidbits from other people that are more experienced pays off a LOT in the end.
And speaking of measuring and pacing out a story, things went by waaaay too quick. This is also an easy fix, just have a lot more introspection a
