Description

A young man wakes up in the middle of a snow land without a single memory. What was his name? Where was this place? His mind is plagued with so many questions.

But soon he'd learn memories and his location were of little importance, danger was approaching. He'd have to survive first if he ever wanted his answers.

He runs, trying avoid the calamity at all costs. However, he's not fast enough. The danger approaches too quickly and catches up to him.

By some miracle, he survives. Was it over now? What else would he face in this land of snow?

A Requiem For The End is a fantasy story set in a world.......well, quite different from most stories you might have seen (I honestly don't know how to better describe it). Early into the story (prologue) the world feels elusive because you slowly learn about it through the eyes of the protagonist who has no memories. As you read on questions may arise in your mind and mysteries will present themselves. The answers to them will come the further you read.

I'd like to think the plot is a bit larger than the average and same goes for the world building. If you find this story intriguing then all I can say is - There's a lot for me to tell, hop on?

EDITS. EDITS. (only important to those who have gone through the earlier chapters.)

Prologue 1 and 2 = Chapter 1-3 now (hence the change in naming) . Reread those. Everything else remains the same.

Yuge is an 'otherworlder' who doesn't remember his past. He finds himself in an unfamiliar environment and meets another 'voyager' who kindly takes Yuge under his wing and teaches him the ropes. Thus begins Yuge's journey in this new world and his journey on controlling malaias energy.
The author has chosen to focus on world development and plot development, and it pays off: there's an interesting world to explore, an interesting hook, and interesting concepts of this world's supernatural powers. For this reason, Requiem for the End is worth a read. On story alone, I would give this book a 5* rating.
I read this on Oct 12th '22. At the time unfortunately the author would switch tenses that did break the immersion. I would have also loved more character development so that I can better understand Yuge's character and connect with him as the protagonist.
