A Report on the Biological State

We are beings evolved with the primary objective of avoiding lions on the plains of Africa. Long enough to make more of ourselves, at least. Our talent for anything else is, objectively, an accident. As a result we are pretty terrible at it.We are a curiosity, much like if a slime mold started spouting basic arithmetic with an 80% accuracy. Are we a lovable curiosity to be treasured or a strange quirk of the universe to be ignored? Will this be determined by one unfortunate (maybe) human girl? It wouldn't make much of a web serial if it wasn't!
