Description

Optional sequel to Upon Wings Of Change.

The dragonets are flourishing; both those in the park and those helping the Kymari.

As the first dragonets to hatch in the Kymari civilization, Tessa and her brother are paving a new path as they grow up and learn how to fit into the world. New beginnings are often great things, but sometimes shadows from the distant past come calling.

Please note that this sequel is very slice of life and has a notable lack of action.

Another beautiful book. The novel is like a coming of age story with a scaly twist. Nicely written without any grammar mistakes I could spot while reading. I hope the story goes on and we see the dragons exploring the wider galaxy. There is so much potential for another book I can’t wait to read more. Everyone reading this review pls consider reading the first book it’s so good.

Don't usually read more slice of life stories but I really enjoyed both this story and it's predecessor. Although the author indicates this is only the draft version it is still worth a read in my opinion.
I liked seeing the different effects of trauma on the people who experienced it and the second generation.

Another wonderful installment of the series. Not only does the story remain quite enjoyable, but some of the questions left hanging in the previous book were answered. I do hope the series continues if only for the world building.
Definitely a unique point of view for a story, and certainly worth a read.

I've been reading a fair share of stories with non-human (and especially dragon) characters and point of views, but this is the first one that actually made me write a review. This review will be covering both this story and wings of change, as I read both within three days - which should already serve as testament to how thoroughly I have been captured.
As a general, the story flows nicely, I did not stumble over any grammatical errors, phrasing and style is pleasing - I was especially taken by the descriptions of the dragonets: voices, flight, behaviour... it was vivid and made them feel relatable but distinctly nonhuman.
Going over to the worldbuilding, the morning song especially was a very nice detail. The aliens didn't feel too distinct from humans with what I would describe as only minor cultural differences, but in turn their culture and society as far as we could glimpse it were very interesting and well described. I enjoyed the mix of slower world-building and slice of life with the more tense section, striking a good balance that never felt boring but gave enough time to rest and digest.
If I had to give one criticism, it would be the very start of the story in wings of change - it felt strangely out of place and had no relatable impact to the rest of the story in my opinion.
Having the dragonets be human preciously helps set up some behaviors and explanations, but personally the combination of blood memories and simply hatching in a lab would have been enough - on the contrary letting the human origins be more of a mystery to be explored later.
Once the story was set up however with the arrival of the main alien species, it flowed nicely with good pace and storytelling.
All in all, I have tremendously enjoyed both stories and hope to read more of Tasha, Tessa and their family - or maybe more of Drake and the tribulations of the wild dragonets... in general, hoping and craving for more in this world. It may have left me with longing beyond just more story
