- Pilipi123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really liked the idea of the story and the pace at which the MC got stronger. There surely is room for improvement, however I still think because of the novel concepts in this book, it is definetly worth a try.
I enyojed it a lot and hope that someone will give this story a try because of my review. - JDayRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Simple story
Powerfantasy, MC growing strong fast
Completed Story (Grateful for it, very rare in Royal road)
Read it for fun and dont be a nerd. There may be some plot holes or some characters with strange actions but overall you can enjoy the story
I would have liked a bit more of magic in the story but the aura is good anyways - ChaddtsRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I like the m.c not being "damaged goods" too many these days are depressed or messed up somehow. I personally hate that which is a subjective opinion obviously. The problem with adding those characteristics feels like adding a flaw to show character growth. When in reality most people don't really change. If your a douche you don't grow out of it suddenly when coming to a new world. The same can be said of any defining trait that isn't suppose to change over time, like the m.c being a coward, pervert etc. I find him well rounded and real....until "making the m.c stupid for tension" comes into play. With the abilities at his disposal the suspension of disbelief is broken. There were many other obvious ways to handle the conflict and none were mentioned in the story to explain why the would fail. Instead they go with plan A with 0 real planning or discussion of other possible avenues. This make it feel contrived. I'll come back and continue the stroy in the future however motivation and thought process needs hashing out. Constantly felt flabbergasted at why certain decisions were made the way they were.
There is also a deep lack of detail which I personally don't mind because I like to imagine the world as I see fit, however others may find this off putting.
I'm not a Grammer nazi so as long as readable without obvious errors i couldn't care less. And this story is plenty serviceable for me, even with the few errors it has.
Now the style is the 2nd biggest failing ,but it gets far better with time. The author is obviously refining their craft and it shows. - RFUdkzRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is not the average isekai. The character does grow during the story but it reads well. This is not the never ending story, it has completed and this is good. Some characters are merely decoration but many are fleshed out and make the story more substantive. The writing was improved by the author but parts of it could use a copy editor to edit for continuity, coherence and to fix some of the immersion breaking parts. These are subtle and bite every author. They don't break the story.
- NixoliumRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I'm not entirely sure how I stumbled across this, but I think I clicked somewhere and I ended up here. Clearly, this is the work of a new writer, and its not a bad start. Edward, our main character, seems to fall asleep and instantly reappear in a world that he has previously been dreaming about. This review, understandably, is critical, but this does feel like a first work, and there is certainly easy areas of growth.
Style
The writing style is a bit "telling" rather than anything else. Edward's character is narrated and actions are usually described by "[x] does [x] then [y] does [y]..." and so on. There is definitely room for expansion on the descriptors of people and places. For example, you described a "gate" as blue, but not too much else about said gate. Clearly, it is an important structure that sets the tone of the story. There could be designs on said gate, or a response to how Edward views the gate. Comparisons, metaphors, and just imagery in general would be excellent.
Grammar
Too many minor errors to count. Flow could use a bit of work. But honestly, I don't care how good grammar is so long as it doesn't interrupt the remainder of the story, and I've seen popular web novels have worse.
Story
There's not enough to go off of to make a judgement yet, given that we're only on chapter 4. But that's okay.
The story does feel to follow the usual isekai tropes. The main character wakes up, and suddenly they are in this other world with some perks and a perspective that differs from that of everyone else. I can't make a judgement yet, so I give the average score I hand out: 3 stars.
Character
I do have some problems with Edwards as a character.
You have the generic archetypes of a flawless MC going right now. You explain that they're intelligent. But, they are also practice boxing, and thus naturally has great fighting skills. They are emotionally stable, and don't seem even surprised when they find themselves traveling to another world, simply responding: "That
