- Heath A. ClarkmannRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book is really enjoyable because it takes two things people love—dragons and sci-fi—and blends them into one story that still feels serious, and not goofy. It has that “epic legend” feeling, like you’re stepping into a world where old myths and modern space power are both equally important.
One big thing I loved is the main character’s presence. He feels proud, angry, and powerful, even when he’s in a bad situation. He doesn’t feel soft or confused for long. He feels like a real force. That makes the story feel confident, like it knows exactly what kind of character it wants to deliver, and thats so rare on RR.
The writing also gives a strong sense of scale. Everything feels large: the danger, the world, the stakes, the tech, the history behind it all. Even when you don’t fully understand every term yet, it still feels cool, because the story makes it clear that there’s a bigger system and a bigger universe behind what you’re seeing, and that the author has taken the time to flesh everything out behind the scenes as well.
Another thing I loved is the vibe of discovery. The story keeps showing new ideas and new rules without getting boring. It feels like there’s always another layer coming—like you’re being introduced to a wider setting step by step.
The relationship dynamic is also really nice to read. The interaction between characters has tension and personality. It feels like two people who may need each other, but don’t fully trust each other, and that’s always fun when done right.
The style is also good at keeping momentum. It doesn’t feel slow or stuck in one place. It feels like it’s always pushing forward. Even when the story is explaining things, it still feels like it’s moving toward the next problem/ goal.
I also loved the “bigger purpose” feeling. This doesn’t read like a small one-off adventure. It reads like the start of a longer journey with major enemies, long-term payback, and a lot of room to grow.
Overall, it’s a strong start if you like int - metherandomguyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm liking the story so far. I love dragons, and dragons in space is definitely a cool concept.

Would love to read more so I'm writing this to show support. - Never MorrisonRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So far in the story, it’s exactly as advertised. An ancient dragon getting summoned and put into the body of a star ship that’s built to look like a dragon. The poor thing is a bit confused, and not entirely happy to be crewed. So far, it feels almost more slice of life for such a situation as opposed to an epic revenge tale, but it’s early yet. The dragon hasn’t run into anything truly dangerous yet, so the few battles are over pretty quickly, the pacing is a bit slow, but I haven’t read enough of it yet to say if that trend continues. The writing is very good and easy to read and it updates frequently enough that if it gets you really hooked, you won’t need to wait forever for your next fix.
