A Coward's Guide to Healing [A LitRPG Progression Fantasy]

Description

Waking up in a new world to a game-likesystemwasn’t exactly what Noa envisioned for his future━it wasbetter... presumably.

Though every turn was riddled with trouble, becoming a healer should give him a free pass in life, granting him opportunities he never before had. Problem was that he had to make it from Point A to Point B with a trouble-making companion as his sole tutorial, and should he fail in his quest to become a life-giving healer, he might be needing someone else to givehima life (preferably an easy going one. A beach would be a nice touch, and no apples.Definitelyno apples).

What to expect:

- A litRPG system with a focus on spell leveling and class compounding.

- 1 chapter Monday, Wednesday, Friday (when I'm healthy)

- Hopefully areallygood laugh.

Overall, it's been a fun read. The characters are likeable and it's honestly gotten me to laugh out loud a few times. The only thing that's frustrating is the amount of updates, which have been inconsistent, but that's really no fault ot the author, as i know life happens and sometimes sh-t gets real. I hope you continue with this story!! I'll be there to read it as you do!

STYLE: The writing style uses the third person limited perspective to it's advantage. Noa's internal monologue is really fun to read, he gives people nicknames, a lot of funny pop-culture references, and overall the prose and writing style is oozing with humor.
GRAMMAR: No complaints here whatsoever. It's a clean read.
CHARACTER: I've really enjoyed the characters so far. Them and their interactions are so much fun to read. Eliaz(Elvethor) and Noa have such amazing chemistry and bounce-off each other so well. The other characters are fun to read as well. As I keep saying over and over again, that this story is so much fun.
STORY: So far the story has just been Noa getting into progressively more trouble, and it is so much fun. I had a smile on my face almost throughout the story because of how much fun it is. I chuckled at a few scenes, and laughed out loud at some.  Though there seems to be the introduction of a heavier plot-element
With how Yana(She-monstrosity) is treating her indentured sservants. That plot element seems interesting, and I am invested in this arc. Maybe this is where we see Noa become a true hero.
OVERALL: Full disclosure, this review is a part of a review-swap, but I was having so much fun, that I ended up reading one chapter than I had to for this swap. I really like this one. Now I am a pretty positive reviewer in general, but this truly hit it out of the park. I enjoyed reading it so much. If you have any doubts, go read it. It's fun, and gave me a really good laugh. This is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a fun read and some good laughs. I give it a 100% recommendation.

The story and the dialogue is funny without making it's sincere moments feel insincere.
I like the little chemistry and Noa's series of "DEADPANNED"s at the insanity occurring around him
Now to fill the word count
This is worse than having to write a college essay
How is your day going dear reader

Story: Noa is the unwitting subject of a number of fascinatingly strange happenings (little locus of control I’m afraid, at least initially) that pluck him from the familiarity of his apartment, and dump him in a medieval-type world but with magic! And of course there is the ever-looming System-dono to keep him in check and suitably strengthened to take on what’s expected of him—the role of (cowardly) healing!
Characters: Noa is our protagonist, a relatable, humorous fellow who reacts rather well to his sudden shift in environment—takes it all on the chin and keeps on being cowardly. He is quite intelligent, and his tractable personality helps him master most situations (or be mastered by it). His backstory is left fairly unexplored at this point, but perhaps that comes later. In general, he is a believable character that you want to see succeed.
Style: A mix of concise and lavish descriptions—often the action scenes appear to me as a tad too short, but not to the point that this detracts significantly from the immersion. En engaging writing style in all, with a good sense of humours—a welcome distraction from all the isekai/LitRPG violence I read on here (and do adore; don’t get me wrong :p).
Grammar: I did not spot many typos or incorrect use of punctuation. The text has definitely gone through some editing—kudos!

    1. The writing is nice and clean. There wasn't any grammar mistakes that I can see.( Meaning the book doesn't make me dizzy when I reading it!)
    2. What can I say about the book itself well it's hilarious. To the point I feel so sorry for poor MC Noa. He's a trouble magnet y'all!!! And he has some serious beef with apples!😂
    3. Also let's get a round of applause👏 to Dagrun the Author of this lovely book.
    4. Look y'all Dagrun the Author is super chill. They want to see us comment our opinions, ideas, and questions we may have for them. They're not like other writers that get mad at us for asking. Dagrun the Author wants to interact with their readers.👍 Meaning long as you're not rude about it they want to hear it👂
Because getting frustrated with any plot or character development throughout the story without commenting any opinion or idea is crazy. Especially when the Author ask !!!

The story is written with simple, but easy to understand and flowing prose. There are little to no grammatical errors, and the author has clearly put a lot of effort into making this an enjoyable read.
The story is action packed, and with little to no downtime for Noa. He's a fun character to follow, and his inner monologue made me smile quite a few times. It's clear from the get go that Noa is quite unlucky, and a trouble magnet, so he often finds himself in interesting situations.
I hope he does get a few calm and quiet moments to rest and reflect though, he surely needs it!

This story so far has delivered on its promise in the synopsis. Noa is a healer. He does have a companion that feels like a trouble magnet. He does find himself swept up the whirlwind of events.
The author's language is easy to understand. Their grammar is quite good. I also never realized there was a way to apply nuance to 'deadpan' expressions and deliveries.
Unfortunately, this story to severely lacking in a single cursed quiet moment. From the first chapter, Noa is having to navigate balls to the wall asinine situations non-stop. He has no good frame of reference for the world he is in. Everyone treats him like an idiot or a child. No one has actually offered him assistance aside from one minor (assumably) character. He's had his life threatened 5 times already and it's very easy to see that that will continue.
Also, EVERYONE he tries to seek help from is a damned conman. Not a single altruistic bone amongst them and he's just *fine* with it. He's literally been coered under threat of imprisonment, violence, and death, on separate occasions, and just takes it in stride. As if to say "I guess I better work harder if I don't want to be exploited as much".
Depending on how much you pride yourself on your common sense, I would recommend just passing this one up. If brain dead protagonists in animes, who are to stupid to live yet do, turn you off, then please don't read. Noa isn't stupid, but he will give you the same amount of frustration, if not more.

This style of "comedy" is unfairness wackiness.  Where random things are happening for random reasons and the bumbling protagonist can't say a simple sentence in defense as he's shoved in ever deeper "wackyness"
I Dislike this. It's not funny to me but it's a common style so there must be some fans.
Add in some weird personal Final Destination spirit also a thing I'm not a fan and this was over for me from the first chapter
