    The narrative shift here pulled me in at first, only to zoom back and not really make a whole lot of sense to me. It felt as if the narrator slipped through the cracks and Astrid is followed by the narrator without engaging in the piece. There are a lot of narrative elements and the piece assumes a lot of familiarity. It is good, but a bit unbalanced with solid prose masking its density.
