- TheFriesRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I completely understand that this is purely a Manga Transcript for something that is meant to be portrayed visually, so any form of critique I would normally give towards the writing style and format is sort of pointless as this isn't the intended form of the story.
All I will do is say some stuff about the two Leads in the story based on what happens in Season 1.
The two MCs are fun, and their growths were enjoyable to journey through. I will say that Zodiac's part of the story in the early half before the Timeskip was weaker compared to Daru's story (in fact I felt like reading Zodiac's story was more of a task I was forced to do than something I would find enjoyment in). Zodiac does become more enjoyable and fun to read a little after the Timeskip and I grew to like him as much as I did Daru from the start. One of the issues with Daru I had for most of his moments was in his fights. Where Zodiac felt like aura-farming and tactics (which were fun to read and think about), Daru felt like a rinse and repeat of "get hit, tank it, get stronger, hit harder" and nothing new or creative. Honestly though, it would probably look a lot cooler when drawn and paneled correctly/creatively, but reading it felt like it was predictable and kind of a drag.
