This is a one-shot/short story based on Kazuki Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh. While written in novel-format, it also features realistic dueling. Depending on how the story is received, I may decide to make it into a series.

- RznRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This actually has a decent opening and it does a duel and ends in a good way, unrealistic given the situation but this is the Yu-gi-oh universe where card games are serious enough that bullies will honor their word and all your problems can be resolved through a (child's) card game! The duel itself is the focus and the blue box set up for life points was a nice touch. My only real issue with this was that the basic attack and defense (or ability) of the played cards was not given until relevant, nor were the set cards revealed to the reader until the moment they were activated. This made it impossible for the reader to engage with the story and figure out what the intended play was - or how it might be the wrong one. The duel itself was a bit much on the tension too, falling for the gimmicks of VRAINS and not keeping it at least engaging like the original series. Overall, a good fanfic.
