Jacob Windsleth (a pirate from the age of piracy) dies as a result of his chosen profession.

During his soul's transition to the afterlife, Jacob’s gets intercepted by the starship Feather Fall and at the request of the ship's AI, his soul takes the place of its artificial intelligence.

Jacob takes over the starship and turns its crew and its only Human crewmember, Sean, into the most feared and legendary space pirates the universe has ever known.
