Wrought Land: Warband

Born and raised in a backwater farming village, the failed adventurer wallowed in self-pity until the ripe age of fourty, waiting to inherit his family's fortune of ten heads of cattle and an old rundown house. Despite being lucky enough to be born with an offensive skill, he squandered his opportunities, too lazy and vain to spend his life training and too cowardly to fight horrifying abominations, but everything changed when they came to him, setting his village aflame and threatening to butcher the whole population. Showing uncharacteristic heroism for the last time in his life, the failed adventurer became a true hero, and, unbeknownst to him, was caught up in the elaborate machinations of the old gods. When the middle aged failure died, the unsung hero was born, in a place unfamiliar and strange, where opportunities are as endless as the hordes of vicious monsters.
