- RoenzRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is about Melinda, a big and strong woman. She divorced her husband and lived alone while working as a blacksmith. Things got worse when her workplace shuts down and moves to another town. During a hard time, she gets an invitation to be a beta tester for an online game.
Style
Written in third-person limited, the story focused on Melinda's life. The author used simple phrases, action-focused, and detailed descriptions that make me easy to understand and imagine things. Despite the pros, I felt a lack of emotion when Melinda was fired and had to deal with the uncertainty of life.
Story
I feel the story is moving slowly as the actual game has just started in the 10th chapter. By then, I don't get the mission that needs to be done or the game rules. I would prefer the game to start sooner as it supposes to be the major theme.
Grammar
Everything looks good in this part. Nothing bothers me so much.
Character
Melinda is the most notable character as the others seem to play supporting roles. However, she is quite a unique character with her muscular figure, rather than the stereotypical small and pretty girl. - MSMRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0You know all those LitRPGs about the generic guy who gets with the hot demon with the big boobs? This is a story about the demon, not the guy.
Melinda is a rather unlucky woman known for being big and muscular rather than small and pretty. She lost everything in a recent divorce, and then got laid off from her job because of cutbacks. She gets called in to beta test a new VRMMORPG World Souls Online, though things are a little... off from the start. Some parts seem like she was a last minute addition, even though this has been planned for months. A demoness admin tries to choose her, only to be told that isn't allowed. When she finally gets into the game, she finds that not only is it far too realistic, but she's a half-demon with no option to customize her own character.
This is a very slow burn story, and we're just barely getting into the actual game right now, but I'm still interested in seeing where it's going. My primary complaint is that the grammar and prose is a bit odd, as if English is not the author's first language. It's still not a deal breaker, though, so I'm willing to see where it goes.
