- StarswornAdminRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0When I first saw the cover for Woodman's Path, I knew I was in for a treat! In some ways it's a standard isekai, but with a degree of charm and action that will keep you coming back for more.
Style - The action sequences are what really stand out to me in Woodman's Path. Very early on the combat starts picking up, and you'll find it continues to ramp from there. Exposition is blended in nicely with story progression, and at no point did I feel bogged down in unnecessary fluff. The system is standard but functional, with enough twists to keep you wanting more.
Story - It's fun! Like many isekai, execution is the most important thing, and the author executes well. There's plenty of plot to keep you engaged, while you're also moving from one energetic action sequence to another.
Grammar - No issues that jumped out at me, the author is doing a great job keeping the writing clean.
Character - Elijah is fun to read! You get the impression early on that he's learned a few things from the school of hard knocks. This works to his benefit as he's forced to navigate his new world. I will say that as more characters get introduced I'm itching for a little bit more from them, but given the scope I anticipate the story will span I don't think we'll be left wanting as the narrative continues to build.
Overall, this is a great story for fans of Isekai and more classically developed LitRPG goodness. If you enjoy action-packed combat sequences and unique abilities, Woodman's Path is for you! - TonyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an Isekai LitRPG.
Style: More of a modern style I’ve been seeing more and more of. I’m guessing anime and Eastern inspired. Easy to read and follow and is fun. The action scenes and dialogues are well written, and the story gets a little slice-of-life-y for a bit, and if I had to bet I’d say that will be the formula – switching between action and slice-of-life, growing in power and then growing in relationships. Somewhat like those ‘Legend of Heroes: Trials of X’ games.
Story: A young man gets transported to another world and handles it well, killing without compunction, deciding to focus on growing in strength. It starts off in the woods on an island, fighting one guild that attacked him, then allying with another to destroy the antagonist guild. City exploring with libraries, shopping, rifts and all you could want. The RPG system is pretty nice with tiers (levels), skills, perks, traits, and dao seeds being introduced so far.
Grammar: Good. The few issues are quickly pointed out in the comments but there aren’t nearly enough to warrant criticism or distract from the story.
Characters: Elija is an interesting and enjoyable character with interesting powers. Not a ton has been given of his past before being Isekai’d.
All in all a fun story well worth checking out. - twoheadedlichRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5As a warning it is not as natury as the title and premise imply so if you are looking for a botany style adventure you'll hve to look elsewhere. it has good (if barebones) worldbuilding so far and i expect there will be a chapter explaining it in detail once MC reaches civilization. the side characters are fun and fit the "brotherly mentors" sort of vibe but the enemies do tend to be a bit one dimensional in their instant hostilities and assumtions. I havent noticed any gramatical errors so far and I love that it includes a bit of the last chapter as a recap before it starts, MC is slightly unusual with no qualms about killing(despite being a teen and killing a large number of people in rapid succession) and it is a largely ignored subject(MC dosent even think about it. possible mind manipulation?) otherwise does try to think things through but still makes mistakes. wish there was more explaination or reaction (also could be mind manipulation) on the isekai itself but the story is still young and like everything else can be expanded upon in the future.
final impressio is it is an ambitious story with lots of future potential but somewhat lacking currently - EverwanderingDreamRoyal Road★★★ 2.5No grammatical error found yet. Rather, the issue is with the character himself, whose action just screams irrationality and lack of thoughtfulness. Plus the power system, in my opinion, needs more explanation. Of course, take this review with a pinch of salt since I've given up in the first few chapters
- SoundTrampRoyal Road★★★ 2.5While the premise seems interesting enough, the language used makes it difficult to understand what the author is trying to convey.
There is a lack of detail and description in all aspects. Characters and people are defined by a single word (woman, archer, enemy), action sequences are given bare-bones explanations with gaps, and dialog is short and poorly formatted.
I can only recommend this if you are looking for a new story to lend advice. The author does seem to incorporate feedback.
