I gave this story a 4.5 because it has kept me riveted the whole time and I judge stories off of their entertainment value (what they are meant to be judged off of). The only reason it is not 5 stars is because of the wrong words being used or the disjointed sentences that caused some mild displeasure. The characters are great but could use a little more fleshing out. For example, why did Harry become such a horn dog, what that thought process was, and what he sees for his future and why. Pretty much the basic questions we all have around that age when the whole world is laid out before us. I would also like a side chapter for Tonks and what she is thinking. Please don't make the women in the story shallow bimbos.

Downgrading the score 1-star, across all relevant catagories, a bit because it looks likely that the author won't finish this story, character arc, etc. Ward hasn’t been online since 2022 (dead???). But, the story pretty much takes you through some major arcs that answer some Potterverse “what if…” and deal with plot holes; very much worth reading.
The main character is a more edgy, and in my opinion believable, version of Harry Potter in his 4th year; once he is less naïve and more interested in proactively figuring out why he has become so screwed over and, once the veil is magically lifted from his eyes, realizes that a lot doesn't make sense;
"Why did Dumbledore leave me with abusive family when 'Voldemort died'. My parents certainly didn't want them to be my guardians, did they?!!"
"Why did I never receive a piece of wizard mail from my parents friends, or the bank, or the powerful wizard who put me in this house?!!"
"Why was I living like a pauper, my grandparents were rich and my parents had a vault full of money!?"
"How does deadly stuff keeps sneaking into the school and every newly hired teacher seems to be a disguised sociopath or nincompoop!!! Isn't Dumbledore a powerful wizard who can read minds?"
"Why is Snape even a teacher; he is horrible at his job, everybody knows he has it out for me, and everything about him screams 'I'm a Death Eater! Including his Deatheater tattoo!!!'"

I'll caution and warn potential readers that this story is "ecchi" (content may occasionally be spicy), but this story hasn't been focused on that aspect thus far. The story is a modern-setting fantasy genre in the Potter Universe (obviously) ; no RPG elements.
Style: Nothing to complain about. Well organized and consistent with HP cannon, at the start. So far, largely presenting the POV of the main character. Occasional glimpses from the POV of the side-character

This story starts out sorta allright, but as i've progressed through the chapters the quality seems to just degrade with every subsequent chapter. And oh my god the inconsistencies, like what the fuck, in chapter 16 he has his 18th birthday, then just a couple chapters later he is suddenly 14 instead!
It just doesn't make any sense.
There are also some actions that just don't make much sense either, long and winded explanations for things that rationally could have had much shorter and simpler explanations. Poorly thought out and often unimportant details that could have been easily avoided entirely just being more vague, there's just a lot that's going wrong here.
I feel like after about 20 chapters (a bit more maybe) it slowly starts to feel less like a harry potter fanfic and more like a stereotypical xianxia fic (and by stereotypical I mean just so much waste text going into so many fictional details about fictional things (like fictional philosophizing and such) nobody could possibly care about) I don't know if it recovers or not, but I have been thoroughly unimpressed with the current arc I'm on, even if I thought the earlier chapters were kinda nice.
No masterpiece mind you, but nice, there were a few flaws of course but nothing that really bothered me... But then it just started raining things to be bothered about all of a sudden.
The characters are... not very faithful to the originals; there's a token effort in there but the characters feel kinda generic in the end.
The low style rating is mostly just what I already talked about, the quality degradation, the skimworthy fluff text that seems to increase in quantity with every passing chapter around this point of the story I'm at. Also the pacing, I mean it starts out kinda fast which I like, but over time it gets slower and slower.
And the story I mean... You get the premise the synopsis promises, but it kinda feels like Harry's been swapped for an OP Protagonist self-insert, he doesn't behave like Harry at
