A quick disclaimer! If anything I say is misconstrued as negative then it is just my opinion. There is no correct way to write anything, so almost everything I say is a subjective take on the story!
I liked this story a lot. It definitely was *not* easy to get through the first 10 chapters or so. But those chapters are (mostly) essential for setting up the big moments of the story, so it is worth it to get through them in my opinion. It is a story about overcoming trauma and how to live with the pain that awful events cause. There's a little magic flair here and there to spice things up, but it is mostly a story on two people with different major traumas and one of them overcoming theirs and learning to be happier. So, it's a feel good story.
Style - My only real gripe with the story is in the style itself. There's a 3rd person POV and it feels limited and yet sometimes we kind of hop to 3rd person omniscient. We hop from character to character sometimes very quickly and that was hard to deal with as a reader. Additionally, I like a lot of detail about characters and the places they go and this story is so internally focused that there is relatively little description of people or places, they simply are. BUT otherwise the style is good, especially for how in depth the characters' thoughts are. It is an internal story and the author did a good job describing emotions and feelings.
Story - The beginning feels too fast and too slow in some places, in my opinion. I felt a little whiplash as a reader when several of quick events would happen then we would get a whole paragraph devoted to the art of cereal making. But it felt much better for me once I got to chapter 11 or so. Once the major conflict of the story begins, everything just sort of clicks. Actions feel better paced, and the progression starts to feel less like whiplash. I really liked the story itself after those initial few chapters, but since the story is all about personal growth it would be impossible to

This is actually the first review I'll write, so I'll to try to be as honest as I can.
Style: I think the story is well presented so I don't see much of a problem here. Well, sometimes there are unnecessarily long paragraph and discussion but I'm not really bothered by it.
Grammar: I don't have anything to say her except that its good. I didn't see any misspelled word anywhere (probably because the author keep editing it). Its really good.
Story: It's too slow-paced in my opinion. Sure, this is a slice of life story but, I still think there many conversation or interaction, not to say chapter, that I could have gone without. Plus, I still really fail to see where this story is going.
Character: This is good enough. All the character here have their own personality so it's fun to see them discuss with each other. Though, the only problem I have is how Kait, who is supposed to be the protagonist, have less impact to me than Hailey. I think Kait ought to be more developped.
Overall: For those who like slice of life story, this might be interesting for you. I'm more of action, adventure person but I still had a good laugh on this novel.
