Description

Morigana Luxanna, a well-educated woman, who has a degree in physics, Antithesis studies, and Vanguard technologies works daily on integrating technology sold to the corp she works for, by Samurai and modern Human Technologies.

When the Antithesis decide to drop in on a school she’s subbing in for. She has to make a choice, save the children, and fight the aliens, or save herself and run to the bunkers.

To make things more interesting, while she has no issues developing weapons for soldiers to use, she has a strong aversion to ever using a gun or weapon. So, she has to come up with different ideas how to fight off the invading hordes of plant monsters.

This is a Stray Cat Strut Fanfiction: It’s based off a setting and world created by RavensDagger. I got permission to write this from them and hope I don’t disappoint them or you readers if any. I write this for my own enjoyment and by no means am I a great or even good writer. So, should you see mistakes, or have suggestions feel free to comment at the end of a chapter!

I’m going to try and include some art from an AI generator called Dream by wombo.art. Just know that it’s not a perfect match to characters but you will get the idea, I hope!

Just started reading this, so far it’s on track with SCS stories. I’ve enjoyed it and hope it continues. Looks to be a good book. Merlin as the AI is going to be on par with Morigana as historical Myth had them as teacher and student, then enemies. Here’s to hoping this book will continue.

Whilst it as only been a few chapters I believe this novel needs a review.
I find I alway look at reviews when I’m deciding what I want to read so as there isn’t one yet I’ll add on. I’m enjoying the few chapters I’ve read, the MC is different to a lot of the stray cat strut spin-offs preferring magic (read science) rather than guns and mechs, and whilst it is super early days the MC seems to have a few flaws and issues to work through no Mary-sue 👍

Morgan’s, Merlin, Hank, Bobby, pictures of the new characters quite regularly, what even is this book?! I love the characters and the little surprises throughout. It’s fun to read and lighthearted, and takes a non-traditional approach to the SCS genre/universe. I love that it doesn’t take itself too seriously, while still throwing science into the mix. The character doesn’t have to be re-taught the things we have heard told to all the main characters in the other SCS books, and the pace moves quickly.

I want to love the sassy techno witch with science magic using nanites to simulate magic. (Nanites, after all really ARE Sufficiently Advanced Technology)
The writing is very good, and I love the intelligent female taking charge. The story progresses nicely and we have lots of action. I’ve read most of the SCS Fan Fiction, and this story is my favorite.
But, there are some issues. We have the Hot Female Trope who (looking at the art) actually chooses to dress in an almost slutty fashion. Real women, especially those who get advanced degrees, dress conservatively to be taken seriously and avoid harassment.
We are now at chapter 23, so where are her friends? She has a job, teaches on the side, she should have some kind of social life. This makes her terribly two-dimensional.
Despite all that, I’ve enjoyed the story and are looking forward to more.

This is so far my favorite SCS fic. Even taking a 2nd place to the original story is not enough for this story.
Instead, it's even better than the original SCS by ravensdagger.
The MC didn't just throw on some armor and hope for the best, She used her immense intellect to FREAKING modify her BODY so she can't just be SPLATTERED by something when she's out of costume.
Where Cat flies by the seat of her pants and relies on armor, our favorite science-witch of chemestry-magic and badassery actually did something about her human-squishyness.
Praise Morigana, the witch who uses her brain.
Update 8/16/2024:
The main love interest, Devoy, doesn't act sincere to my eyes. He seems like one of those guys who go after vulnerable women by acting like the perfect prince, which is unrealistic.
He doesn't act consistently for someone who is legitimately interested in a woman. Here's what i said in the chapter where this became evident.:

As a manly man who speaks man-mance, Devoy is acting like one of those fuckboys who pretend to be sensitive to get in the pants of women.
His reaction is too far to the 'Romance prince pretend archetype.'
His reactions are unnatural.
A man-person in this situation if he were being sincere would be supportive, but will also talk about himself to relate.
He would be kind, but he would also be nervous, and if he's not nervous, he is used to using vulnerable women.
No amount of natural experience with women would allow a man to not at least make one bad joke to try to lighten the situation up, while failing spectacularly or hitting the mark and making her laugh while crying.

Also, It's strange that science-witch-badass MC doesn't have any friends. I've never seen a woman who doesn't at least have one woman as a friend to watch her back and be supportive.
So, half a character score star until this is fixed or explained.
Update one as of 8/30/2024 the characters have kinda gotten stale.
Gonna try to keep reading but its- yeah.

I actually like her. The MC. That’s the main reason why I read as much as I did, but overall, the story feels like a wet dream first and a story about a person second.
It’s fairly well written as far as these kind of stories go.
The potential mentor calling the MC “missie”, to shut her down when she’s justifiably angry is the last straw for me.
I want to enjoy this, because I like the MC as a person. But I can’t. Because this story is less about her than it is her … assets.
Final word, just ten chapters in and she already has three potential male conquests. However, we have not so much as spoken to one other woman.
