- BzaurpaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I LOVE IT!
MC is great, finally female protagonist who is truly evil, no "getting hand dirty for better world" or "I will be ruthless but only to bad people", she's as terrifying and horrible person as they come, I love her. And the best part is even with this she's likable; she's smart, pursues her goals, deasn't get emotional for no reason and isn't sadistic just for fun. Everything she does is part of her bigger plan.
Even with descriptions of tortures and other messed up things, novel is suprisingly not heavy. Of course it's not comedy or lighthearted, but it also doesn't have the edgy vibe of "world is very dark place, only pain exist". Yeah, sometimes you get someones soul being erased, but as often you get to feel satisfaction when MC learns a new spell or makes new discovery. Which makes whole novel that much more enjoyable.
Plot is so original and intresting I don't even know how to describe it. 200 chapters of non stop progress, action, new characters, learning about world and it still feel like story's just begining. I wasn't bored a single time when reading it, world and story got more and more intresting the more was showed about it. And because plot is original and non-linear, you never know what to expect.
MC plays the leading role, but other characters are great too. They have their stories and goals, I am really curious how some of them will end up in future. Ally of Beatrice? Enemy? Maybe experiment victim? I have no idea and can't wait to see it. There are some POVs of other characters which makes things more intresting and at the same time they are short enough that you never get annoyed with them.
To sum up, this novel is a gift from heaven!
PS. If author reads it, thanks for your work and you can add some more tags to novel, this way more people will find about it. - alex77Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0review till chapter 22
Beatrice lives in a world with knights and magic and she was discovered to have talent in it and we will she her joining magic academy, from what we see in the first chapters the mc has an evil and sadistic personality but unlike most novel she is actually pure evil but at the same time not crazy and follows logic and is intelligent and dedicated to her interests(like magic)Also the magic system is a combination of magic and lite cultivation ( you cultivate a mana pool to increase its size and you use spells with different calculations to cast it)
The grammar if perfect except of a few mistakes and that the writer forgot to write how many years passed in time skips in the first chapters
All in all, I recommend it if you like:

After that stretch the writing improves considerably to consider it one of the few good stories with evil protagonists without antihero crap in between.
The story, partially due to the bad writing at the beginning is a bit confusing but later it can be appreciated as a pretty decent and witty story and lore.
Sincerely a recommended reading for those who like novels with real villains and not half-titles with antiheroes. And I am hopeful that the author will not abandon the story. - Lemon snakeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Disclaimer: I am now helping Aersuy editing the witch of darkness. So I may have a bias. I did not edit a lot of the chapters yet, but I hope that wherever I acted, the chapter flows better.
Now, back to my old review, not edited from how it was when I first discovered the story.
First of all, I have to say that the story is interesting but lacking in the back story department. After reading the five introduction chapters some of the things happening around the MC are unexplained. Also, everything is in place.
What I mean by this is:
We can read the MC's and the other characters' thoughts so we are supposedly on an omniscient POV. .. But a lot of stuff, notably the MC's villain aura to her servant is not really explained yet. Or why she never smiles. Or the random Asian name that popped.
I also have encountered a great... issue. I call them "suddenly" a lot of them pop everywhere in every single chapters. To the point of saturation. I know making a whole story is hard. And re reading can be a pain. But some phrasing are heavy, confusing or uses too much "suddenly".
I also have an issue with the lack of side characters/ side kicks development. Making a MC evil needs the victims to actually look like they're being treated unjustly. And what best way there is to do that? In my opinion, make some antagonists with more of a "good/ neutral good stance" or some back story that would make the MC actions impactful (mostly the negative ones) . Or you're going to finish with a story where everyone is limited by only one thing, their profession.
Overall, if you're not a maniac like me, and can go past without feeling the itch of correcting stuff that does not flow well and kind of break the immersion, this story is worth it.
