Description

When I enrolled at the Northern Academy of Magic, I never thought my first year would turn into a nightmare. A black dragon broke my heart, trampling my pride and humiliating me publicly.

Years later, our paths crossed again.

The arrogant inquisitor, sent by the Emperor's Council, has returned to destroy my world, shake the ground beneath my feet, and take away everything dear to me. But not this time, Mr. Inquisitor. I will fight for my life, and no dragon will stop me.***"Move over, ice princess," a quiet voice whispered in my ear, and my bed creaked under his weight.

Maximilian threw two more of Kami's blankets over me and unceremoniously pulled me into his arms, settling next to me.

"What do you think you're doing, you brazen dragon?" I scolded the uninvited guest, not bothering to mince my words.

As there doesn't seem to be tag or a warning anywhere: beware that this story has non consensual content.
Having said that, I still enjoyed the plot and the pacing. It's definitively a well told story with nice twists and non black or white characters.
    However,
The dynamics between the main characters are a bit strange. She is essentially forced several times into non consensual interactions, brainwashed and yet never really shows anger right after it happens?? And he never truly changes, keeping his arrogance and giving her orders and rules to follow until the very end ??
Also, she is described as vengeful and unforgiving yet never really confront the mages that tried to use her as tool and just goes back to being friendly with them?
I like the personality the author tries to give to the main character but unfortunately, there are several places where how she actually acts/reacts is in opposition to how she is being described/set up to be.
In conclusion, the writing is good, the plot is interesting and the main character is likeable enough to want to keep reading, despite the frustration one feels over this discrepancy.
