I think what's great about this story is its adherance to the classics. The mc isn't chasing some esoteric Dao, but the sword Dao. It even has a spirit beast sidekick/partner/dual MC! There's just something great about seeing someone do the normal formula justice. There is a pure singlemindedness in the MC that brings up and highlights the XianXia genre in an almost return to form at this point.

This is an excellent example of an English-language xianxia.  Most such stories are unfortunately plagued by various faults in either (i) writing in English, (ii) translating into English, or (iii) cultural differences that don't translate well.  And then of course meta-faults that arise when writers imitate those poor examples.
On the one hand, the author has a strong grip of both the English langauge and what makes good story-telling in English.  On the other, while they are familiar with the common elements of xianxia, they've put them together into a fairly coherent whole that, among other things, helps explain the balance of power that would otherwise be upset by god-like entities.
Our protagonist is a fairly likeable sort as well.  A young master, yes, and exceptionally competent, but not arrogant. A fairly kind soul with an obsession for the sword.
As to the plot, we're only just getting into it now. These first 20 chapters (and perhaps a few more) are like an extended prologue or introductory arc. We meet our protagonist at the age of 6, spend a few chapters with him, skip a few years, and repeat.  And we are just now getting a sense of where he, his mother, and his mentor stand in the wider world, and are perhaps on the cusp of an academy arc.

Well written cultivation novel with an interesting start. I will contintue reading to see where the story goes and I would recommend others to try it out. Overall the grammer is good as far as I can tell, with only a few mistakes that I could spot. The characters introduced seem to each have their own personalities and are well written so far.

Characters are good, and the MC is shaping up to be fairly sensible. Pace is a bit slow to this point, (ch 26) but seems to be picking up. Once we get to the academy I'm hoping for something not too 'arrogant young masters' for a change. We've seen some time skips, and I anticipate some more, but it'll be interesting to see how this one is paced.

So....style;reading the first few chapters I must say the style is very different but at the same time follows the order of cultivation we all have known and read. I don't know many other cultivation novels except a handful which provide such geniune and fresh take on cultivation
Story: the story is very interesting and attention catching. Seeing through the eyes of our young protagonist, the wonders and dangers of cultivation world as he grows up under the tutelage of his (let's just say powerful) mother and master(sort of). The overview of the cultivation levels is simple and straightforward forward but that is something I believe adds a charm to a seemingly simple yet complex story
Grammar: impeccable. The author has a great vocabulary and sentence usage. The flow of conversation, the depiction of scenery,etc...all seem natural and easy to read and visualise
Characters: The MC as I just said is young no other than a normal kid, nut the author has written him well as to not make him seem a flawless and genius since birth kind of protag. He make a fair share of mistakes as everything is new to him, and wants to try out and dabble with everything.overall the characters are well written, feel real and have their own distinct  personality and traits
(The is my review till the current chapter. It may change further ahead..so I shall update it when I see my views on the novel change)
