Description

Journey into a dystopian landscapewhere the normality of the once-known world has been replaced forever by the system....

The beast suddenly let out a piercing cry, sounding like a screeching bird rather than the flying horror that it was. Sniffer covered his ears. It was so shrill and loud. Even Tiddles silenced for a moment and ducked. Moments later, from a side road leading into the centre, two Spylores appeared. “They are working together,” Sniffer yelled. He had a choice. He could stay on the street and hope the beast could beat them or run for the main building, where the others were behind a solid door. “Come on quick,” he shouted to the surviving guard. He was fear-stricken and stood as if paralysed. Sniffer grabbed him by his jacket and dragged him, “RUN!”

The world of old had ended due to the Falling, and from its ashes came a newly formed race of man, theRisen.

Animals and plant life had all been altered, and society and technology had been decimated. Everyone born in the new era had 'figures' and 'specialisations', and it has become commonplace over the past couple of centuries.

Out of the initial chaos, a new normality had arisen, withTownships,Raiders,Slavers, andWild Onesfighting to survive and succeed in their new reality.

Follow a young man, a young woman, a tracker, and his beast as they forge their new destiny, facing hardship and pain alongside their progressive journey of self-discovery.

I have always been a fan of Post Apocolyptic stories, but have not really dove into these stories until now. This was mostly due to time constraints and other books being higher priority on the list. I say that though, because I can't compared Fight or Flight to other work in this category.
What I will say is that the prologue totally hooked me in. I really liked the transition from the known world to the aftermath and new world people are coming to know. It was a transition that I felt was realistic and believable. Additionally, I like the take of the LitRPG incorporation, ForF certainly takes it's own ownership and incorporation to LitRPG mechanics that sets it apart from others.
I am loving this series and can't wait to see where this is going to go!
