What if the things that go bump in the night were real? What if the line between life and death could be erased, if you were willing to forget what it means to be human?

Vampires are real, and so are the Awoken; super humans who fight to protect the fragile. Mal is a vampire and Leja is an Awoken, they should be enemies but they struggle to maintain the boundaries between their kind.

As Leja strives to keep the status quo, Mal's insistence not all is as it seems grows harder to ignore.
