Whom Gods Destroy

The tale of a man faced with the ultimate betrayal by his wife and his father, the king. Choosing to walk away instead of being publicly cuckolded by his father, Kendrick D'Arcane finds himself imprisoned in a tower for a year, at the end of which he faces the choice of taking his wife back and raising the king's bastard or being drawn and quartered. A visit by a young priest of the god Siris gives Kendrick insight into why the king is doing what he does, and Kendrick's own birth.
