Description

In a world where magical bonds with creatures define destiny, young Addie must navigate a perilous journey of survival.

Her father, an Area Lord, refuses to teach Addie magic-- insisting she is too young. Instead, Addie goes searching for it on her own. In the process, she finds out her trusted personal maid might not be what she seems. An investigation in a dark basement leads to consequences Addie wishes she hadn’t discovered. But, perhaps she’ll meet someone who can help. This is an epic fantasy novel with a young, growing protagonist. Ten-year-old Addie must learn to survive in the wilds without her family, as she finds herself in a dangerous and terror-fraught situation. Her new dragon-like soul-bonded companion, Squishy, is here to help her, and together they'll learn how to use spatial magic to beat back wild magical wolves, unscrupulous witches, and even investigate the dark secrets brewing in the depths of their own home.

What to expect:

This is a fast paced action-adventure progression fantasy story with a growing young protagonist in a world of mystery. This is NOT a slice-of-life story, and if you are looking to read something on the slow side this story is not for you. Please don't review the story poorly because you wanted it to be slow and it's not slow. This story does not contain any NSFW content.

The update schedule is one chapter a week on Tuesdays, as I prepare other projects.

This is a well-written story following a girl named Addie as she grows up in a magical world.  It's charming, fantastical, and isn't afraid to get darker and more serious when the situation calls for it.
What I was most pleasantly surprised by is that Addie is a child protagonist who actually feels and acts like a child.  She's frequently immature, tends to jump to conclusions, and often doesn't think things through very well. But she's clever, and her heart's in the right place with everything she does.
The other characters are also distinct, believable, and charming in their own unique ways, but I don't want to give too many spoilers in a review.  I'll just say that the cat-lizard you see in the cover image is every bit as adorable as you might expect.
There's clearly a good amount of thought and work put into the setting, though it's still early enough that we mostly just have vague hints of the broader picture, limited as we are to Addie's perspective and knowledge of the world.  The author is also good about teaching us through implication and context the facets of Addie's world that would be normalized for her but stand out to us, rather than throwing in a disruptive chunk of exposition in the middle of the text.
The grammar is also quite solid, with only the occasional inevitable minor errors that are going to slip through in any written work of sufficient length.
If you're interested a solid coming-of-age fantasy story, this is well worth your time.

An amazing story with a well-written young fmc. the author has done a wonderful job at writing a 10-year-old character and if you're looking for a light read then look no further.
Style: Pacing and narrative are good. It's easy to read without any immersion-breaking moments which is a huge + for a new story.
Story: With a good amount of showing it'll hook you into the fantasy world from the first chapter. Characters and other elements of the story are introduced in a smooth and natural way. The magic system with bonds sounds interesting and it'll be fun to see how it turns out on higher levels.
Grammar: I didn't find any issues here so 5/5
Characters: I like the way they are portrayed in the story. Addie does things that a child would do, even if it's stupid XD. I don't really read stories like this so it was a fresh change. There are some cliché moments such as the basement scene but it kinda suits the setting of the story. Her bonded mini, furless, black panther-lizard creature is also interesting. Their scene in ch 6 and 7 was really great and i look forward to their character development.
Overall, a very well-written story and you should give it a go if you like slow-burn fantasy stories.

Good story so far. The magic system is interesting. Can't wait for it to be explained a bit more. The characters do far are reasonably flushed out. Some of the side characters need a bit of work but it's early yet. I plan to keep reading and hope it keeps getting better and better.

The type of story that I thoroughly enjoy because it reminds me of the books I used to read all throughout elementary and middle school, gives a sense of nostalgia almost and captures the same feel that the books I used to read gave me as well. So far I'd say its a 10/10 read for sure, can definitely recommend.

As written in the title, it is an interesting story with a fascinating world where a child grows up and learns more about her powers. The story starts intentionally rough to logically read through as things don't make sense. This is however explained later on and the discrepancies makes sense as the story is being told from a child's perspective.

This story is really engaging and interesting. At first I wasn’t sure how I would feel with the main character being a child but the author writes a child perspective so well that Addie isn’t super childish and annoying  nor is she so mature and intelligent that she might as well be an adult. Instead Addie is written as a well developed character going on adventures while also trying to understand what the adults around her are trying to teach her and decipher the actions their performance. It’s honestly the best writing I’ve seen for a child protagonist in a while. Would definitely recommend.

I've read everything that is out right now, and I love it! the viewpoint of a child gives curiosity over everything, but a lack of certain words to describe what the child is seeing perfectly leads the reader to not realize exactly what the child is seeing until a specific observation is given to the audience which allows the audience to start questioning multiple things at a similar time, rather than more spread out clues.

If I could sum this story up in one word, it would be intentional. We know that every character is here for a reason, implicitly, and that every moment in the piece was chosen for a reason. There is a part of me that wonders how people craft these kind of stories, but whether it be through meticulous planning, sheer gumption, or a mixture of both, this story has that in spades.
Style: Professional is the first word that comes to mind. A perfect balance of showing versus telling, imagery when necessary, inner perspective when necessary, all very intentional. It feels professionally edited, regardless of whether it has been.
Story: While I am early in the story, we get a clear picture so far of Addie's life and how magic plays its own role in that life. It may be slow, but it is not boring, it is packed with immersive detail that will keep you focused.
Grammar: I noticed no errors at all, and can only give a perfect score for this.
Character: Everyone has been given an equal amount of energy, even thought Addie is of course the focal point it is clear on reading the piece that every person here has their own life and thoughts. Once again, I would describe the characterization as intentional. I am impressed by it.

This story is quite interesting, with good plot and nice writing style.
It's something that I look forward to more and am excited to discover the new adventures going on.
MC is cute and a bit exasperating sometimes.
I must say that I didn't enjoy reading how she got her bond, too much for a child.

    FIrst sorry for the english
The story is not bad and i like the writing Style. The MC is good too and acts like a child with super powers. But i cant stand the Adults around the MC the decisions they take are for me totaly incomprehensible. The first Book has some questionable decisions but accidents happen and its a magic world so what do i know. The second Book is a diffrent story and it made me consider if i want to continue reading this story.
What bothers me the most is the end of the second book i have read many situations which has an lasting effects on the MC and mostly i dont like them but most of are more or lesss unavoidable but in this case it feels forced and ist totaly avoidable.
You have two Area Lords and one more or less experienced Adult, two children and we want to stop some Soul destroying psycho. Who do you send?yes we send one Area Lord the adult with the illusion magic and the 10 year old child with maybe 2 months magic experiance (not sure how long). But ok one area lord should be enough for the bad guy. But then you find out the more or less normal bad guy is now an Area Lord too and you need one to stop the spread of his influence. What now? Send the MC and his care taker back and get the other area Lord? No!!! we send them both to kill the bad guy into his soul eating Area. I could cuntinue the rant about how this is a bad idee and the decisons of the care taker  but then i write my own book
