- CrimsonBallerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story.
The story is overall pretty amazing! I enjoyed reading the chapters and liked how it's fast paced. Straight into the action and no boring waiting.
A story where the governments of the world are in shambles, crime runs rampant, police forces are thin! Something I find very interesting and fun to read.
The novel is obviously meant to be fast paced and is meant for action loving Cowboy and Sci-Fi fans. - woseRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Overall:
Haven't seen any cyberpunk westerns on RR and this one was a happy accident to stumble upon. Jam packed with action and a comedically grimdark vision of the future, this is a series to really watch out for...it just needs its time.
Specifically:
From the first chapter's opening salvo, you can feel what the author is going for: a noir cyberpunk scifi story about a down and out on his luck scumbag that is atrociously bad with money
The dialogue is intended to be snappy, the worldbuilding orgaic and even the throwaway once off side characters have plenty of personality...but the devil is in the details. Bits of dialogue will go on too long, one liners will land at an angle and the smooth worldbuilding will devolve in tell don't show for no observable reason. These are errors that are more due to speed than anything. The first five chapters have gone up at a machine gun fire pace that hurts the story.
I would recommend the author slow down and nurse his dialogue while also refining the prose. Maybe even just add separate world building entries outside of the chapters to aid in the worldbuilding.
Overall, solid but this is a placeholder review. I will probably revise it as the story progresses
