- AsChavezRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story drops you straight into a world that feels old, dangerous, and full of memory, and it never looks back. The writing is rich and serious, but never showy. It takes itself seriously in a way that works—like someone telling a story they need to tell.
The characters are driven, wounded, and believable in the way mythic figures can be. Xu Lian runs because she has to. Mo Chen stays still because he can’t do anything else. There’s pain here, and purpose, and the kind of quiet longing that sticks around after you’ve finished reading.
What really comes through is care. The world is built with attention, the prose is thoughtful, and every line feels like it matters. There’s no rush. Just a steady, confident voice saying: this is the story. Sit with it.
It’s sincere, it’s full of feeling, and it’s doing exactly what it set out to do. That’s more than enough. - Inkwell RabbitRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First allow me to explain what my reviews usually consist of. I am used to writing feedback, wrapped in a review so both the reader can see what they are in for and for the writer to learn a bit of where they can improve. VOIDQUILL! Holy mother of god these prose are the single most beautiful pieces of writing I've ever come across.
A Mastercraft! Seriously. Painted by an artist that has a vision I can not fathom, only behold, awestruck by the illustrations and delights for me to wander within these purple prose!
Incredible prose aside, I think the only thing the author can improve upon is the pacing being a bit hung up by all the prose...sorta tolkein-esque in that regard. Also watch out for the word territory, the varitions of blur or blurred and the over use of jagged were pretty noticeable!
Can I say that the use of Voidquills prose does come in spades for the deftly tense chase scene in the 3rd entry? Loved it!
Over all, this isn't a story that should be missed, a treat for the eyes and mind, and beckons all of us for its attention

Stunning work! - MauraRandikRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0When the heavens turned away is a thrilling story that details very well the world and the characters. Good actions scenes and enriching moments between the characters where their traits show an interesting and involving chemistry. The pace is good and I hope what awaits the protagonists in the future.
- Mr.SinclairRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the prose and the poetic style of the story—it's beautiful. It's like a movie playing inside your mind, only better. The worldbuilding? Incredible. The monsters are described in such a unique and vivid way. The history is intriguing and mysterious without ever feeling like an info dump.
As for the characters, they seem really interesting. Mo Chen comes across as the cool, mysterious one, while Xu Lian feels like the one who will drive the story forward.
