Description
He wakes up in a universe he knows all too well—a nightmare given form, where war never ends and survival is a fleeting privilege. He’s read the lore, studied the factions, memorized the fates of empires. But knowing doesn’t mean controlling.
Thrown into the lowest depths of this brutal reality, he refuses to be just another forgotten soul ground to dust. He watches, learns, adapts. Strength is the only currency here, and he intends to amass more than anyone—more than the warriors, the psykers, the so-called gods.
Not for power. Not for survival. For something beyond all of it.
Something greater than this universe itself.

- tsadheRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was completely entranced by the dark and hopeless world building that happens while also showcasing the hope and relentless competence of the main character. The fight scenes are gore filled and incredibly vivid while not losing me in the story and location. Could not put this story down. Would heartily recommend this story for any Warhammer 40k fans
- Darcec09Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of the best 40k novel i am reading right now. The characters and setting is really good and the mc are well portrayed in the setting of 40k. His struggles and progression as he grows in the story is really good. I have high hopes for the rest of the story.
- GreenAlpsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Continue.
Very intriguing story, would continue reading.
The first half of the book is very interesting and I find that it really hooked me in, however I notice that the part about the mc being transferred to the 40k universe isn’t really explored very much apart from the first chapter and a couple small mentions in the mc’s internal thoughts.
Perhaps it will be explored more later when he’s in Larger, more important roles in the scale of the galaxy where common 40k knowledge would be more useful.
Overall, a solid 4.5~5 out of five depending on the chapter you’re on.
Some bullet points about things I would like to see more of in this story.
I would like to see the Mc transferred to 40k universe more explored perhaps later in the story.
More interactions with a larger amount of characters.
Longer chapters, they’re great but I find myself finishing them within minutes.
More interaction with the status panel? Maybe regular updates on his status in the authors notes at the end of the chapter, I lose track of what his stats are between the releases of the chapters.
Would love to see more interaction with the warp and more details when he does. Overall, a great story to read whenever a new chapter drops. - MorhRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First time I read a W40k fanfic and it's surprisingly good. Magic feels mysterious enough instead of just being continuous name dropping of the lore of the borrowed universe. It's the first story of the author and he managed to avoid the greatest pitfall of fanfiction. That being said, some parts are dropping an excessive amount of names, like demon variants that are just named without any description or explanation about their role.
One small request: chapter numbers. To know if we missed a chapter directly by looking at the Follow page. - NogonaleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am Nogonale and this is my favourite story on RoyalRoad.
- Yes, the author uses AI but it isn't obvious (to me).
- The story-setup is something I have thought of before, where i was wondering of how cool it would be if there was a story like it.
- Mc isn't a Mary Sue.
- The story progresses (not a lot, if any, filler episodes encountered and new places and people are introduced)
If you read this, thanks for writing! - NovelRabbitRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As a Fanfiction, it’s pretty good, as a standalone story I couldn’t recommend it.
The story so far is one of snapshots, moments of progress by the protagonist as a hive city degrades. It’s sparse on details as it’s relying heavily on a readers preexisting knowledge of the setting. If you know 40K you won’t have trouble, if you don’t I expect you’ll be entirely lost very quickly.
The MC rises quicker than his personal progress, because these are desperate times.
It almost feels like reading a montage, which I will admit works fairly well for 40K, where the MC is starting from nothing and writing out the entire time would be an unnecessary slog. The language is uncomplicated and direct, the descriptions of the esoteric aspects of 40K are well written if sparse.
Overall, enjoyable, and I look forward to reading more, but it’s not something that’ll occupy my mind after I put it down.
Keep up the good work! - SinbadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s in these reviews who believes this novel has far more potential then the likes of many of the slop that can be found on this website. This is true mystery, true intrigue, true storytelling. Keep up the good work author and don’t ever listen to the nonsensical critics in you comments and or reviews.
- The man with a planRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0From the bottom to the top.
my favorite type of story’s
because it’s not the destination its the journey.
to see the MC change from experience but still remembering his roots.
For when he climbs to the top only to perceive higher peaks in the distance.
he can look back on how far he has gone and know he can do it again.
Better, Wiser, more Experienced. - TuliusIIRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author do a amazing job showing the reader how the imperium work and dark is the 40k universe. Hope is a lie and survival is something fought for.
I loved most of the aspects shown on this novel and how well was portrayed. The author knows about the universe he is trying to recreate on this fanfic and it's amazingly well woven throught words.
The system and the litrpg aspect of the novel is well created, simple but efective in giving the rpg vibe. There a few things i do not like or do not concur on the novel, but overall it's a great piece of literature.
I strongly recommend it. - ggjddguRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely lovely best Warhammer fic I have read yet even if your not a the biggest fan of Warhammer I would absolutely recommend reading this. I mean this is the kind of story that i would read no matter the setting the writing makes for an engaging story and quite frankly you don't need to know just about anything about Warhammer to understand and enjoy the story
