I’ll start the review off like this. Fans of Cradle stop reading my review and start reading this book.
Now for the rest of you, you probably need more context. This is an awesome series. I’m almost done with the second book. The first book you can find on KU Amazon. You need to read the first book before you get into the second book and some of you may think the first book doesn’t start out fast enough there is reason for that. The author takes a great deal of time setting up the universe. There’s action in the first book there’s drama in the first book. There’s a lot of character building in the first book, I’ve seen some reviews that didn’t bother to go beyond the first book. It’s not that the first book is bad. It’s that the first book doesn’t tell you everything and people don’t like that. Trust me there’s a reason it’s called web of secrets. You’re not supposed to learn everything in the first book. With that being said, this is a progressive series with multiple character, viewpoints and the story the universe. The characters themselves are all 5.0. There’s no other way to describe it. Even the characters you might see as villains are really good villains. You might think they’re just monotone villains. You’re wrong finish reading the book. You would be surprised how the author turns things on its head So many times, and you don’t see it coming. Now I will be honest some of the first book was Predictable I won’t say how or why but you’ll know if you know. With that being said, there are other things you will not see coming  It gets even deeper when you get into the next book and the books that come afterwards oh so deep oh so unpredictable  I have not found a chapter that I didn’t like yet even the chapters. I thought this is a little boring. I wanna skip ahead by the time I finished the chapter. I was glad I didn’t skip ahead. This is a series that you need to read you need to get into you need to bookmark. Go find it on Amazon first finish the first book an

The synopsis above is a terrible description of the story. At most it describes book 1 everything after that is 'quite' different but that's really the worst thing I can say about it.
The writing is near flawless and the characters are some of the best I've seen done on RR. They present like actual people, ones with their own goals and lives that might only touch on the MC(s) rather than revolving around them. The ones focused upon, mostly Akari, are also very, very well done. There flaws, goals and motivations are believable and growth is a constant struggle they sometimes fail in but never in a way frustrating to the reader.
The plot and world-building are also well done. The plot has kept me guessing on where it's going next and has continued to be interesting throughout. Action scenes are also exciting and make good use of the stories 'magic' system as well as tactics and character traits.
It's a good story, it's on-going and it's still getting better. Go read it already.

It starts a little slow on the mana channeling but once that starts then things start happening quickly. I highly recommend this one and I hope he continues with the story. Thanks for what you have written so far..It still wants more words so I'm going to ask for more info on the enemies they are fighting, the spiders. Do they move like normal spiders?

*I apologize in advance for any english mistakes*
Ever since I fell in love with cultivation, yes Cradle, I've been, reading, posting and searching everything xianxia related, that's why I can't figure why I've never came across this Masterpiece before.
Very often people try to write inspired by Cradle, some take a few concepts, others just downright copy everything they can get away with, some are good, others don't.  But in this one I feel like David succesfully took precisely the tropes that made me love Cradle and mixed up with Attack on Titan, modern technology, added some more mystery and topped up with believable hacking skills to create a very, very original story. Unfortunatelly I read everything in one day, which dispite being sad from my perspective is also a testimony of how good this book is, since I for one tend to abandon more books than I finish within this subgenre.

Web of Secrets is like the love child of Street Cultivation, Mother of Learning, and Cradle. I love all three of these stories so I think this is high praise. If you don´t like these series still give it a shot! It's not a copy of them by any means. It just reminds me of them and is the best comparisons I can make but rest assured it is it's own work.
Style: We´re still early on in the story but I´ve rarely seen exposition done so well. The way the author is slowly rolling out the history of the world, the magic, and the plot is just inspiring. He provides just enough information at the right intervals to keep everything interesting and the plot moving forward without information overload or forcing it. There is still a lot of the world that is unknown to the characters and I'm looking forward to discovering the world with them.
Story: I included a lot of story elements in the style section and I won't rehash it here. There are really interesting story elements that I really enjoy. The author has done a good job of steering the characters into doing what he wants for the story while maintaining the illusion that he isn't in control of what they're doing. There are some really enjoyable hacking scenes which as someone who has very limited knowledge of was very enjoyable.
Grammar: I usually have to mentally correct errors constantly when I've reading online but that wasn't the case here. If there are grammatical errors then they're the sneaky kind.
Characters: We're still learning about them but they seem to be 3 dimensional people who have actual wants, needs, backgrounds, and plans for the future. Even characters that have very limited screentime are more than they appear at first. As I stated earlier, but it bears repeating, is that the characters really feel internally consistent and they do things because it makes sense for them to do it not because it is necessary for the plot.

Well this is my favorite read at the moment, it's characters come to life to drive the story, full of dreams, ambitions, emotions and spunk!
Meanwhile the worldbuilding that is introduced with the story is simply superb! Everything is explained as need be, without long expositions, just perfectly done.
The writing is also very good, clear and it just flows! It's basically adictive, I wait for this every week.
Only downside is that there is not a lot of backlog to read yet, and chapters are kind of short.

Very well written, with interesting characters and relationships that grow and develop.  Makes for an interesting transition from a position of weakness into one of hope.  The two primary characters are like oil and vinegar, and when combined become something interesting and different.  I'm fascinated to think about how the plot will evolve as the main characters work through their crises.  Should be a fun ride!

I had a blast reading this story. The magic system is cool, the author spends time to build up the characters, and there is a huge mystery component that drives the plot forward. The protagonist goes through a lot of hardship but continues to push forward makign her easy to root for. Overall, a good time.

Very interesting take on the cultivation genre. Characters are well developed and believable, progression feels earned and not at all rushed. Definitely worth a look if you are looking for something new and want a character based story where the cultivation system acts as a tool to aid the story rather than becoming the entire story by itself, as happens all too often in cultivation stories.

I absolutely love Web of Secrets. I've been reading it for two years now, and am still obsessed. The lore, the worldbuilding! I generally like it. Not for everyone? Sure. For me? Absolutely. Overall, great grammar. I really like the story. The characters aren't copy-paste. They have depth!?? and development!!? my favorite webnovel by far
