- BynFlewRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have been looking for something like this where
Spoiler: Spoiler
A guy with powers that can summon 'Modern Soldiers' in another world that has the civilization of a medieval world with magic.
There are some stuff that could be better and some stuff which wasn't necessary but I still love it and I found it enjoyable. Just wished there were more chapters but since he/she is a University student there's not much we can do. Maybe he'll work on it more in the summer. We'll see
This is the first time I have ever gone out of my way to actually review/comment on a novel that I enjoy. Even made an account on this site just to comment and this is the first novel I have ever read from this site. - neon11234Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Clear and easy reading. No glaring errors. Video game start
Spoiler: Spoiler
but with the trapped/new world twist, enjoyable game elements.
Hopefully the author doesn't get bogged down with becoming too OP, perhaps empire/world building can help prevent the story from becoming stale, introducing military fortifications/FOBs etc, some military battles with good strategy would be interesting. Recruiting "real" people as subordinates to the MC's units, would be a way to deal with any refugees fleeing from nearby war(s), high unemployment and explain away personel requirements to run things like kitchens, farming, manufacturing, guard patrols. MC needs military intellegance officers & Engineers at some point to help secure food, shelter, water, power, etc so they're not 100% dependent on his abilities, assuming his force expands, the author may want to keep things small and lean for the forseeable future.
Maybe increasing the military docturine would add to the story. Wish list aside, enjoyable read, for those looking for modern warfighters in a fanatasy setting. Will be following the story closely. Potental love interest (long way into the future, if ever) not enough to even consider tagging, no haram nosense, pretty good.
The battles/fights have been pretty point and click, I'd like to see buzzsaw supressing machine gun fire, and shock and awe, blitzkrieg, kill zones, ambushes. I'd suggest the author reads some short descriptions(wiki will do) of US civil war, zulu war, US vs Red Indians, European wars in the 1800s. This will help shape how effective simple cannons and muskets were against primative weapon wielding hostiles, even the manga/anime "GATE: Where the JSDF Fought" could provide inspiration of how devistating the technological gap is (the magic/mage element does close the gap). The Rhodesian war and Fin-Russian could provide inspiration for fighting and winning against superior numbers (enviromental and training/strategy factors played a part) - Yggdrasil360Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I feel the story has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see where you take it I hope you continue with the story
- Knight22Royal Road★★★★ 4.0It's not a bad modern technology in a low fantasy setting story. The author relies more on telling you what happens instead of describing it. Some of the sentences are structured oddly but the grammar is decent overall. I'm not sure where the story is going, how the main characters abilities will integrate with the world or how the world might change the MC's power but there's plenty of room for the story to grow.
A decent start overall. - WingedAngelRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Will do a better review later. Seems good so far hope it has more world building and lore.
- ImMrMeeseeksRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Very good story. Love these kinds of novels hope u get better and keep the releases up.
- Jester13Royal Road★★★ 3.0Always been interested in this kind of world/setting (becoming a commander and summoning people to fight for you) so I'm mildly biased, but I'd say that as of chapter 22, this is a decent story. Not amazing but not bad either, worth a read for sure!
- HamsterDesTodesRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The story has so far not been impressive. A Teenager who thinks he starts playing an FPS game shoots his way through a fantasy world, just like the title promised. Unfortunately, this tale combines the things I dislike about fantasy settings (ie arrogant "masters" and cringing subordinates) with the boredom of written FPS fights (bang! he's dead. +10 fame, repeat 20 times, fight finished) and not much of a story.
Some people might get off on lists of gun names and military equipment but for me, a bunch of acronyms+numbers are not a replacement for an actual plotline.
Throw in an at times strange acting MC without much of a supporting cast and the story is plain boring. Your mileage may vary of course.
On the positive side, there aren't many typos or glaring grammar errors and the pace is quite fast. - YinkoRoyal Road★★ 2.0Thinks he's in an FPS, doesn't kill the guys that he thinks are arresting him. Creates a faction called Sentinal (which, obviously relates to the concept of watchful protectors), which does not bode well.
Not the absolute dumbest stuff I've ever read, but I have no interest in where it's going. - dante7555Royal Road★★ 2.0The concept of the story while not wildly overdone, it can still be found if you look for it, FPS VR gamer gets transported into Isekai world, blah blah.
The style is shit. I'm very spoiled when it comes to novels so to me this is shit. Not as bad as some fanfic but it's still bad. Very obvious things are constantly pointed out by mob character and the MC's thoughts. Which in turn makes the Story's point of view weird and awkward. Knowing exactly what other characters think is quite retarded, that with the short and nonsensical thoughts itself makes a perfect combo.
There's no problem with the Grammar from a first glance so it's good enough.
The Main Character while having room to develop seems to be too... average. Why read a story if it's about an Average guy? There's no source of an interesting and surprising development, it's boring to read cause there's no character that acts as a hook to keep reading nor is there an interesting out of the norm story aspect.
The only reason I read this far was because I saw a comment the author made about how he hated harems, the character blushing for no reasons, and naive saint main characters. Kinda got my hopes up not gonna lie, but even if what was said is true, the writing itself is too shit to go anywhere.
Edit: seems like it caters to Chinese Webnovel and Wuxia readers. Meaning quantity over quality. With the majority of the novel being the mob character and the "antagonists" (not really antagonists if they can't contend with the OP MC) being in awe of the things the MC can do (wanking off the MC's self-esteem), even worst instead of just writing that they looked embarrassed, angry, or something, it's replaced by a complete 100% accuracy of what that character thinks in some single quotation marks.
I mean if you like this kind of thing... you do you, I guess.
