Varda Walk [Psychological Adventure Fantasy Slowburn litrpg--COMPLETE]

Description
A man tired of life on a spent, dying world dies in his recliner. When he wakes he finds a new world, untainted by the touch of man and alive with magic. In a primordial forest long abandoned by the world's inhabitants he is given a second chance to live by one of the hidden gods of the world, A Watcher. The eternal being binds him to this new world, tying his existence to the Akashic record of these lands to leave his imprint on history as he will.
The story is litrpg with an emphasis on the lit and minimal rpg. Numbers won't go brrr. Status pages are few and far between, don't expect a system to carry the plot. The story lives in the characters and their interactions with each other and the world, think dungeons and dragons.
There's a heavy emphasis on the experiences and introspections that arise as might for one thrown headlong into savagery and then into the workings of old world societies and peoples of folklore. This is an exploration, a labyrinth, a walk through paths less traveled, not a race to a finish line, and the format is less webnovel, more traditional novel chopped into chapters.
Some warnings: I love technical lingo and weird phrasing and use a rich vocabulary, you might have to look things up, it's fine. As far as content, there's violence. There's crude language. There's mention of adults being adults. All the content warnings are checked, don't complain later.
README!! I did a rewrite of the first book this spring but I left the original book2 and 3 chapters up so the Royal Road format is out of order since it goes by date. Start with Reforged chapters, then resume the old numbering order.
Here's my Patreon if you feel like giving me money but it's not necessary. The full story is posted here for free, don't give any website money to view my work please, I won't get any of it.

- DarkestElfLordRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was an absolutely awesome story. Funny, heartfelt and very real. Ulrich was written very well and felt like a real person, very much a man of my own ilk. I will also add I have been thinking of writing issues towards myself and after reading this you have given me courage and confidence set out on that task. Again great job I can't say it enough
- Drone's IllusionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thus far, one of the best descriptive novels that I've read. Grammar is on point, and gives an accurate mindset that most of us working drones wood have if we got to leave the mundanity of our day to day lives for the call to adventure. Expect very good things from this book and enjoy that chapters come out twice weekly consistently.
- DukeGrimmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A slow burn but once it gets going it hits like lightning! I really enjoyed the detailed nature the author describes the world through the thoughts of the protagonist Ulric. The LitRPG elements felt heavy on the literature and light on the RPG, a magic world grounded in magic science rather than stats. Probably not a book for everyone but I know I loved it. 10/10 would read again or a sequel.
- FreyaChevalierRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let's see, I'm not a big fan of mega huge reviews so I'll keep it short n sweet;
•Great Grammar
•New and nuanced take on the LITRPG genre
•Polished writing style and great characterisation of MC so far
TL;DR: If you're looking for a litrpg that feels fresh and new by an author that has some serious writing chops, look no further! - HarkanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0to begin white the auther know how to write the details of everything is super well done.
we get a lot of insight into how things are made and how things work. The people feel alive nothing 2D here and the lore and world is intresting. The magic and combat feel very well done especially the magic it feels scary how its set up. - Ricky BrumfieldRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book was a joy to read. It is one of those books that you are sad to find end. I loved the characters and relationships. I can say it is a book that i will remember fondly may one day the story starts again, if not at least we could read it at all.
- VictoriaRoughton72Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read alot of stories on this site and this is one of the best. Good pacing, wonderful world building, great lore crafting, has necessary info dumps. You really get a feel for the world the protagonist is from and the world he finds himself in. Good dialog and back and forth between the main characters. Funny and exciting battles. I think this story would be a wonderful game to play or television show to watch.

The spoiler is filling 50 words.

The racism, and complexity and Comedy. The character builds, some of the best I’ve come across. I find myself anticipating what’s going to happen next. Wonderful read.
- furlingerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Preface: This is my first long form review and I felt this story deserves a few more eyes and reviews. It's probably not for you if you like pages and pages of blue boxes, endless slaughter and stats go brrrr. If you like a slow burn, slice of life-ish pacing, a more character driven story with a likeable, relatable MC, this might be for you.
Style
This, in my opinion, is probably the strongest point of the story for me. The prose concerning the MC reads very well. It flows naturally and the author knows how to turn a phrase. Splicing in a bit of latin, german and science wordery makes the prose read very true to the MC's "history". The writing balances the facets (nerdy, "manly", diplomatic/adapted to circumstances, "just being a guy" etc) of the MC very well; it feels real.
All the characters/groups have their own idiomatic voice which adds a lot of color and weight to the world building.
What others might not like, but I do: overall the writing is not too descriptive and parts might appear very dialogue heavy.
Story
The initial idea is the well known isekai trope which in itself isn't bad, it's just par for the course on this site. The first couple of chapters are a slog. I'll admit i speed read most of that. But once other characters appear things get moving. Still at a more leisurely pace, but alright for me. Things are set up and ideas have a through-line and are developed.
Blue boxes and stats exist, but are used sparingly.
Grammar
I haven't noticed anything severe. There might be the rare instance of a typo etc, but i'd rank the grammar among the top offerings on this site.
Character
As I already mentioned in the style section, there is a very distinct feel to the language that is used for the characters. Groups have their distinct culture, idioms and habits. The important people have their quirks and flaws and their motivations have solid foundations that are explored. All those layers (and more) add up to a very "alive" world.
