Value Loyalty Above All Else [Star Wars]

Description

“No one rules alone. That goes double when ruling something vast, like a world. Or worlds. Or entire star systems. But if you get dropped into a universe that you really don’t want to be in? With powers that, at best, attract a cult of child kidnappers? And at worst, well. You might not need that advice after all. You won’t live long enough to need it.”

Knowledge is power. Question is, will power through knowledge be enough? No. It really, really won’t be.

A Star Wars the old Republic self-insert. Because why not?Follows the sith warrior storyline.

‘Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings’ is accurate. Violence, death, sex (non-explicit kind), torture and all manner of nasty things will be here. They are sith, not puppies. Rape will not be graphic, but will indirectly be mentioned. Once again, sith.

This story deserves all the 5 stars. It is simply great Star Wars of the Old Republic fan fiction.
I do not know tons of the Empire & Sith lore, & I think something this sorry did for me was  give me a grounding on why the latter Star Wars movies & setting is add it is even If this is the thing in which Morgan rails against the slavery & evil of the empire.
Thank you author for a great ride.

The amount of fanfictions is infinite. If you want to find a worthwhile one, you had to search for a looong time even just a few years ago. Now RR hosts a multitude of great fanfictions and this one is definitely one of the best. I highly recommend giving this story a shot.

tldr; an unabashed self-insert fanfic, but the absolute best one I've read.
genuinely well written. Characters have interesting motives and unique characteristics. It makes me mad even when extremely peripheral side characters die bc author takes a second to flesh them out - so now I'm rooting for them/want to know more...then they die. Bc this is a story about Sith. I love this. The author doesn't keep around 'important' characters just to keep them around, instead many ppl can die, making the stakes feel more real. At the same time main character deaths are very few, letting us grow attached.
Author can be a bit light on descriptions of events/scenery and seems to partially rely on reader's knowledge of source material (SWTOR). But it does help keep events moving, and the plot is extremely fast paced. It is intentionally moving away from game-plot, and these changes are often well explored.
Character progresses in power, character developments, and events (as known from SWTOR) at a fast pace. Sometimes the events themselves are given cursory attention, with multiple very significant events sometimes in the same chapter and timespans of weeks to months occuring in a couple paragraphs. travel is also not remarked upon unless somethig sigificant happens in transit, but it can be jarring when you're suddenly on a different planet without a break.
However comparatively long periods are spent on character moments and fights that actually matter. Personally I appreciate this balance for the most part. At a certain point it can get boring hearing about the MC defeating yet another enemy force, this book avoids this by making fights that are less improtant occur without endless pointless detail.
Next - smut - author is unabashed about this being a self insert. This includes explicit smut, especially bondage play. Scenes are well written, they occur often but not so often this turned into erotica, and after the first few fully detailed scenes it is often obliquely referred

In which a slave of the Sith who just happens to be from our side of reality decides that he's going to go for the gold, or in this case, rule as Emperor. It's a long road. Some of that road is definitely non-Euclidean. But it's worth driving. Witness the rise of the Mad Mouse!

I loved this fiction from start to finish.
The author managed to move me in more than one occasion. All the feels from a fanfic.  And it's a complete work. Color me surprised!
So this is a weak protagonist to strong to hero with a few interesting allies that are given life through this story. They're not just character names you will easily read one and forget. The world, the force and the not original characters are introduced well enough even for those slightly familiar with the original stories. Though if you have never heard of some things like the Eternal fleet for me, then I get nothing from that short part. Because it's multiple storylines that are referenced in here and the reader needs to know to get the full fanfic experience. I will hopefully return and re-read this story in the future.
Mad Mouse is my favorite Sith and I will most likely name a few game characters from this story when I play some good SW RP games!
Thank you @LostInTranscription for this. I sure hope I keep reading more of your work in the future!
Wish I could write a better review but I'm not a writer myself. 200 words is tough man.

One of the best Star wars stories I have ever read. Thanks for writing it and thanks for finishing it.
Good power scaling, good balance between personal combat, character development, world building and some comedy.
I liked how you explained how the force works. Technical enough to feel like it does not just give you story powers and to make for interesting combat but still magic.

    Really good 👍👍👍
Characters feel like their game counterparts, great take on the force and what it's like as a force user, and shows the horrors of slavery and torture on korriban and it's lasting effects in way I've not seen in any other fiction.
I've binged all but the latest chapter and I'm thirsting for more :)

Just an all-around good fanfiction! Excellent power scaling, good solid plot! I haven't read too many fanfictions concerning the ages between Raven and the fall of the Republic. The romance could be better, but I really don't find it detracting from the story all too much. The interactions seem real. Overall one of my favorite fanfictions

One of the top ten Star Wars fanfictions I have read. I might even hazard to say it is in the top five. It is a unique reincarnation story that puts the protagonist in the Old Republic. I find this something I have not read before leaving me invested.
Style: Not much to say as to the style. I find that it does not do much different from other good works of literature but it does have some of the best descriptions and scenes for the more ethereal plot and how it is described. I find myself thoroughly enjoying these sets later in the story and praise the author on describing things that some would think indescribable. Very eldritch horror in a sense.
Story: It is a grand story of the protagonist’s journey. There is grief, trials, and triumph but not in equal amounts. The plot is well written and takes lore from the Star Wars universe while expanding on certain aspects in great ways. I feel like this enriches the plot of the whole story but may put some off as feats and scaling may feel “off” to some. I stand by that the author does a great job of explaining this and keeping things grounded while maintaining humor for the better parts of the story.
Grammar: There have been some moments where grammar has flagged but it has never taken me out of the story in a meaningful way. The author writes with great care and the reading experience has always been for the most part fluid and understandable.
Characters: The characters in this story are phenomenal. With growth on both sides and questions about how interpretations of the force effect their verry thoughts a great reading experience. Making Sith and Jedi not just good and evil is a favorite thing for me to read and the author does a great job of this in how every force user may have a different interpretation of the force. What Is love for a Sith? Attachments for a Jedi? All fun things to read and how the characters question their emotions when their “Side” of the force does not fit with them. Watching the characters grow

Commit to the premise or do not do it at all. A character in the heart of the sith empire yet he doesnt use the dark side nor portrays the self destructive mental aspects of it.
    A self insert indeed.
The pacing is also too fast preventing anything that happens in the story to have a proper buildup and payoff.
