- ziuxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really good story, but the releases are a bit slow.
- LaeosariRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started reading this and couldn't put it down, I enjoyed the interactions with other characters and perspective changes. Despite being overpowered the MC doesn't suffer from what makes most so intolerable and flat, he is more focused around enjoying himself than showing off or revenge on those who underestimate him. Even if he is broken when it comes to combat and power he isn't omnipotent, he doesn't know everything or understand the world he is in.
He isn't egotistical, vengeful or overly petty. He feels relatable even with all his power and that is something I enjoy. There is a sense of contentment about him that I enjoy reading. - SageofmindRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Welcome back bro u don't know how much I have been waiting for this novel.
And
Please release chapters more frequently.
I can't wait 1 week after waiting for 3 years .... - Will-WRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was directed here by a facebook group mentioning that one of their favorite authors was back from a long break.
The story is great and ramps up well.
The grammar needs some work, but considering that the author is not a native english speaker and this is only a hobby, it's good enough to overlook the errors in my opinion.
He could definitely use an editor, it doesn't need to be professional, just someone to do a single pass. If someone was willing to just proofread it, i'm sure it could be a decent seller on kindle unlimited.
I usually read more Science Fiction, but because of the reccomendation on FaceSpace I gave this a shot. Binged it in 3 days of on/off reading. Signed up for the site just so I could get notifications for future chapters and to leave this review.
To Mght: Awesome story! Your english is better than any of my other languages. I can speak decent spanish and a little japanese and chinese. But to write an epic story in them? You give yourself too little credit. If you asked, i'm sure you would have a flood of volunteer editors willing to polish this gem of a story you have. Keep up the good work when you have the time. - BookluvinkatRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Great story. It's a bit of a power wish fulfillment but there's nothing wrong with that sometimes you're in the mood for it and I gobbled it up. My only criticism is the amount of time skips during the Spirit World arc. Sometimes they are fine but it feels a bit forced like you wanted to finish the arc quickly and after the 3rd SW time skip it broke the Immersion a bit. Regardless you're story is one of my favorites.
- shadow_otakuRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Lovely story, plays to one of my favourite tropes of the op main character who wows everyone else
But the story cuts off at the best part, our hero has grown up and is now a young badass who destroys all. The lack of more chapters is a problem right up there on the list with global warming and terrorism.
I NEED MOAR - Flashing Red ButtonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5One of the best stories in this site
- KulabalukaRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I find myself really interested in the story elements but I can't seem to find it in me to put up with some of the more glaring issues with this fiction. Its certainly a fun take on the spirited away story. I enjoyed some of the world building aspects, and did quite like the story up to a point (ch40-ish), but at the same time the characters that should be getting more attention are being left behind while new characters are being introduced. This came too soon, and I think it may have to do with taking such a long break from the story; its easier sometimes to make up new stuff than to try and find whatever groove you were in writting before, And to this extent I would have prefered the author just start a new fiction and leave this one behind, for good this time.
Not too long ago I wouldve rated this much better and I wouldve said "I hope the author comes back soon, Iwant to see the rest of the story", Now unfortunately I have decided to stop reading for a bit and maybe next time I come back to it I'll stop reading at the magelight.
Update:
Came back to try again and have found that the previous chapters have been updated to match the standard the writer was at when he returned after his/her hiatus. It's a shame that it seems to have dropped in quality rather than improved. V2 reads much more like a draft than v1 did. The direction of the story seems the same but the perspective and reactions switch around too much. It feels to me like the story has dropped in quality. - EvrinRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This story seems like it could have a lot to it, but it seems like there are a few things keeping it back. In an effort to build and not tear down, I will only offer constructive criticism, as no appreciates the other kind.
- Grammar - The first thing that struck me about your story was surprisingly the grammar. Don't get me wrong, the story is readable and many people probably don't mind it, but the misspellings, incorrect word usages or just wrong grammar made the reading just hard enough to make getting through the story a hassle. I am not a grammar aficionado and there are stories far worse at grammar than this one on RRL, but there is a problem when I have to reread sections to try and figure out what you were trying to say.
- Character - The main character seems sufficiently fleshed out for the type of story you're writing, but it seems to me that most of your side characters aren't much more than names meant to push the story in the direction you want. Which isn't a big problem with most side characters, but it would make your story much more engaging if your side characters had a bit more "Character" to them. While I hope that wasn't too vague, I don't want to be the guy who demands the characters be a specific way, just trying to offer suggestions to better your story.
After some thought, that's all the constructive criticism I'll suggest. Hopefully this helped you some, I tried to avoid telling you where the story should go, or tearing down your style, because that's your own thing.
Good luck in your writing - ValidRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Okay before I get into the review I will say this is my first t8me reviewing and I'm not the most experienced in reviewing and critiquing so take everything I say with salt.
first I've read up to chapter 45 and I can confidently say, this is not for me, there are some issues that break my suspension of disbelief.
also obviously spoilers for up to chapter 45, I will be posting a mostly spoiler free summary at the bottom of this review.
Moving onto the characters, from what I've seen, mostly 2dimensional with severely lacking character development, and what development is in the story just doesn't matter.
Most of the main cast are pretty 2 dimensional with a few chapters with different povs that hint at them being 3D however they are almost exclusively like that in those POV chapters and switch back as if nothing happened once returning to MC.
Onto the topic of the MC, he exists, he has a personality don't get me wrong and he has an affect on the world however I just can't be interested in him or the characters he interacts with for multiple reasons.
1. Bland personality, for the most part bland, sometimes his actions show different parts of his personality but not a whole lot different.
2. Superman problem, reading early on the magic system is mostly explained by Max, your magic grows based on your knowledge, not sure if that meant magic as in skill or magic as in amount of mana usable. But it literally has never mattered to the MC, so far his basically undefined skills (which fun fact he is amazing and a prodigy from the get-go8 are so ridiculous it gets to the point the mic can create magic on the spot with a 100% success rate with 0 problems, hell on I believe chapter 7 the Mc thinks of fire when max is explaining magic to him and guess what, he makes a spell that is more stronger than any spell Max can make, MAX the great magus is defeated in his almost 200 years of knowledge in about 3 days. Now they try to explain with things such as the MC having faster though
