- RationalMindRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First few chapters are generic but later becomes very unique. With a pinch of satire.
- Blind Snot DragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I saw the mixed reviews but decided to try it for myself. It was just great! It loses half a star for spelling but honest to goodness an excellent litrpg cultivation novel. After chapter 110 and the end of volume 1 there was a meta change and I wasn't about it so I dropped it there. But that was still a 100+ excellent chapters that I would be glad to recommend to anyone on RR.
- Craig CraigRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A great story with terrible translation issues. The author says that they are not a native English speaker and it shows.
dispite this major flaw, I find myself enjoying our reluctant hero. If you like light novel tropes or cultivation isekai then give this a try.
the translation issues are really bad though. If you can't stand:
constant wrong words
switching between the 2nd, 3rd, and occasional 1st person perspectives
run on sentences
constant wrong words (it is obvious the author tried to make the "red squiggles" go away but never knew which was correct in the first place)
seriously so many incorrect words...
Then this is not the story for you - StratoJunonRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Enjoying the story so far but there are a lot of grammatical errors. Two common ones are "statics" instead of "statistics" and "throughput" instead of "thorough". Very strange mistakes to make. A search and replace for "statics" would be nice.
Story itself is the usual op MC xianxia but I'm definitely enjoying it. - MonsiRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I've tried this story as I'm a huge fan of the authors other story "the Runesmith" (check it out, if you haven't)
In short; I didn't like this story. The MC is humble & timid to a fault, you don't have to almost grovel to random villagers especially if you are a supposedly mighty cultivator.
Also the author can't seem to keep it in his pants. I didn't notice any of this in his other story, but man "He wouldn't be against meeting some curvy elf girls to be honest, or maybe some cute catgirls? Though he preferred the more humanoid looking ones plus he liked them quite curvy... in his old world those girls were referred to as thicc, but thick in the right areas not overweight this and that were two different things. He remained with his poker face while his mind drifted to pervy thoughts." Or "He thought while trying not to stare at the woman's cleavage."; ughhh huge deal-breakers in my opinion.
Besides those two aspects the story is quite enjoyable, if a bit slow paced but many like that so that isn't bad per se. Maybe it gets better as the author matures, and the later chapters are actually really good. Who knows. (I wont tho) - RazRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I really think that this might have been a good novel, and to some extent it is. The issue I have with it is that instead of showing us what is happening, we are being told(at least up to where I got, don't know if it gets better). It doesn't make it a bad novel, I just have a hard time getting into stories written like this.
- CrimsonPhoenixRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Personally, I enjoyed the story but the recent chapters have made me decide to quit. The premise is ok, the grammar is good and the world you've created is nice but the main character ruined it for me. Initially, I was fine with his antics as being thrown into a cultivation world from the modern world would require a period of time to adjust so the entire first major arc was somewhat believable and enjoyable. However, the time skip into the second arc and the MC's actions in the new arc ruined everything because he's still a massive idiot. I feel like that time skip should have allowed him to become more mature, a better leader, and more knowledgeable/adjusted with the cultivation world he found himself in but that's not the case. He doesn't act like a proper leader, doesn't ask for advice from the more experienced people, doesn't take into account the new worldview and so much more. He is currently trying to introduce modern concepts like law, trials, police, weekend, etc but he fails to tell others what he wants and just arbitrarily says this is how it's going to be without trying to make sure his clan understands. He completely fails as a leader and acts like a dictator that has no clue how to run a clan let alone a city. The MC's actions make it seem like he's a little kid bossing people around and assuming everything will understand what he wants and that everything will turn out fine but it doesn't and won't. For that, I've finally decided to drop it. To the author, I enjoyed it so far but your MC isn't really growing or developing and seems stuck as if he had just arrived in the world in all the ways that matter besides combat.
- RustencelRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Story isnt bad at start. Pretty descent premis, while a bit lacking in depth, it kept me interested till they went to the secret ground that they his clan was forced to participate in. The whole thing from that point till i gave up reading it was a hot mess. Jumped around and made very little sense to me. It may get beter later, but i havent been able to get through this point after a few tries at reading, so i will likely never know.
- octonusRoyal Road★★ 2.0The story starts with the protagonist immediately op and put in a situation where everyone worships him. He has done nothing remotely challenging or interesting in 20 or so chapters.
Writing is bad. Author knows how to use spell-check, but not how to spell, so you frequently see a word that isn't what the author intended, but sounds vaguely similar.
I gave it 2 stars because at least it isn't a harem novel. - VinzVegaRoyal Road★★ 1.5Positiv: I really liked the world. Huge planet. Much do discover. Standart xianxia world. Nothing wrong with that. But that is basically it.
Negativ: First the smaller stuff. Women in the story are basically just stuff bad guys can r**e and for the MC to oggle at. Seriously. Why do Xianxia authors tend to do this so much? There is more to a women that mammaries.
The MC: He is apparantly a rather normal introvert in his 30ties. But a virgin. The fact that this was chosen as a character attribute should have warned me. He is an imbecile the second a women is involved. He becomes incapable of uterring a straight sentence and everything is only about breasts from there on out.
Progression: There is none. Sure he becomes stronger and gets new stuff. But none of that is in any way earned. He just buys it. This is the ultimate P2W protagonist. He can literrally buy everything with a handy dandy button in his system interface or make it himself with an apparantly very easy "crafting" game.
Worldbuidling: The world is apparantly as large as the sun. Good. that means approcimatly 4.3Million KM in circumference. The MC had a goal that was "hundreds of thousands" of kilometer away and traveled "a couple of days". Ltes go low with 200000km and 4 days. That means he can travel double of the speed of sound.... so this huuuuge world just got completly gutted because he can completely round it in not even 3 months. Why?
Then we know absolutly nothign about the people there. He is allready a sect leader. We do not know if they have a screen too. We do not know if anyone is a crafter. Every single character besides the MC is either a victim to save or an evil bandid/young master. This world is basically dead. Nobody does anything anywhere besides getting into trouble. And nothing anyone does is of any worth to the MC. He is basically 100% selfsufficent.
Can they learn techniques the same way as the MC? His disciples did not care that they just got implanted with knwoledge... so appara
