Description

The year is 2105, and Special Investigator Cassidy Caraway is on her unofficial last chance. If she can't convince this newest partner to work with her, her days with the Federal Investigations unit are numbered. Special Investigator Ethan Mercer likes his new partner, and wants to be on her side, but he's not quite sure how to cope with her increasingly strange theories. In a world where humanity listens to communications between alien species on the radio every day, Cassidy doesn't think theories involving beings from the stars or other dimensions are all that strange. Can the partners figure out how to work together, and solve the mystery behind a string of eerily similar but seemingly unrelated killings?

    While I can't say much given there was only one chapter available so far, I wanted to leave a high-star rating by way of encouragement. This seems like a good opening to a mystery set in a part of the country I don't feel like features in alot of other media I've seen, and the premise of "radio-only" contact with the larger universe intrigues me and I'm excited to see how that aspect will tie into the mysteris and what other new technology might be present in the roughly hundred-years in the future described by the synopsis.
    Having said that, I do have some notes that might help improve the story going forwards. I feel like a decent job was done introducing the two main characters of the story, with the protagonist Cassidy obviously getting a little more spotlight than her new partner. Having said that, there were some times where the transition between who's perspective the narrator seemed to be more intune with were a bit jarring for me.
    Overall however, I think this was a really good start. I intend to update my review or write additonal reviews as the story continues!
