Undead Anomaly

In the year 2023 an outbreak known simply as “Blight”  spread across the Earth faster than anyone could stop it. It killed anyone it infected, and then turned them into a walking corpse who’s soul focus was a hunger for any and all flesh. Infected claimed the entire planet as their own while humanity retreated to the moon to escape extinction

Travel to earth was cut off, but as the population on the moon rose, the resources available to humanity dwindled. Governments, Corporations, and Scientists all attempted to remedy the situation, but all failed. Humanity began sending criminals, the lower class, and finally extra children born above the allotted quota down to earth to live and farm for precious resources needed to save humanity. Eventually, a discovery was made by United BioPurge Industries. Their breakthrough was in regard to human cloning. With their revolutionary technology, they could clone people and transfer their consciousness to the body of the clone.

Uses for this astounding technology abounded but as with all things, the basics were needed first. Humanity needed food and shelter. So in 2038 the first clones (known as shells) were sent to the earth, while their biological bodies remained on the moon in stasis. Their mission was to establish colonies, push back the zombie legions, and gain a foothold with which humanity could take earth back.

It’s now the year 2045 and Scavenger L-450124 is in the latest round of drop pods being delivered to earth to help save humanity.
