Spectacular!!! Top three stories on the site easily.
Been following from very nearly the start and the journey was (still going) so, so good.
Characters are all unique, well written and believable. Some amazing backstories, development and conclusions.
Plot is a tower progression but also interspersed with great slice of life elements that flesh out all the supporting characters and there's a good balance between skills/abilities and numbers going up that I feel some stories fail with by trying to do too much.
First "arc" is finished, most series could end here and this one could and it would be satisfying but there's so many hooks left to explore and hinted at mysteries to discover I can't wait for the next book to start.

This may be a LITRPG with all that implies, but it's character driven. Story with coherent plot, layering nuance and clear explanations, it doesn't stop building.
Make sure to allocate plenty of time to read it all, because you will spend weeks wanting to do nothing more than just burn through this.
The books are being stubbed when complete and are included in Kindle Unlimited. Go. Read. Them.

I like how the MC has to struggle alone with little guidance, it gives a different vibe than the authors other story. I like how much grittier and hardworking the MC has to be in this story. Great writing and consistent chapters once again, love reading your stories. Thank you!

One of the more enjoyable reads on the site. Spelling and grammar are good, prose is fine. The novel progresses and themes change between arcs, no repetition so far. Battle scenes are written well too, not lasting too long and not bringing huge amounts of writing to each and every minor fight scene. Characters are done well so far, no cardboard cutouts masquerading as important characters.
I honestly just don’t have many problems with this book. It steps past a lot of errors that other books tend to make, has a really good balance overall of story and fight scenes and a coherent and tight plot. Stat boxes are used for their relevance to the story, not as a story about stat boxes.

I offhandedly added this to my list about a month ago and just got around to it.  I'll probably finish binging it today and look into joining Patreon.  Not too much adversity just yet, but the pressure is certainly building and I can't wait to see what happens.  Definitely pick this one up.

I really enjoyed this, as I enjoyed the other books by this author.  The story is easy to fall into and the plot keeps going with consistent action and growth of characters. I find myself emotionally invested and hoping for the next update soon! Worth sponsoring on patreon to read more. Please keep up the great writing!

It's a very good thing that the MC is a genuinely nice person given that they have a skill which could lead a lesser person to start preying on adventurers. He gets very lucky in terms of friends and colleagues. This is a fun read and there is progression, loot and comradery. There is an overarching sense of waiting for a shoe to drop once the powers that be catch up to him, but that just serves to keep things interesting. I'm a big fan of this author and recommend checking out his other story as well (Dawn of the last dragon rider).

Ultimate Level 1 LitRPG is an unexpected thrill ride that takes a unique approach to the genre!
Max’s journey begins with the humble dream of becoming a simple baker – no grand quests, no world-saving ambitions, just the desire to settle down and live a peaceful life. But of course, the gods have other plans. Instead of an easy life in the kitchen, Max is thrust into a high-stakes, dangerous world with a [Baker] class and a mysterious black skill. From there, he’s left running for his life, constantly having to grow stronger and face challenges he never wanted in the first place.
The story starts off as a slow burn, easing you into Max’s world and motivations, but quickly begins to gain momentum as his circumstances get more intense and his growth picks up speed. What I love most about this book is how it balances character-driven drama with the evolving mechanics of the LitRPG genre. Max’s growth isn’t just about leveling up—it’s about learning to adapt, survive, and face the dark reality that the gods have placed him in.
The world-building is immersive, and the slow build-up doesn’t just develop the action—it deepens the stakes and personal investment. There’s something really compelling about Max’s struggle, not just with his situation, but with his inner desire for a simple, normal life.
If you're a fan of LitRPGs with a unique twist, an underdog protagonist, and a balance of humor, danger, and surprising depth, this book is for you. The slow burn will hook you, and by the time the action ramps up, you won’t be able to put it down.
Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a fresh take on LitRPG and wants a hero who’s just trying to bake a loaf of bread in a world that won’t let him rest.

I am super pissed Author removed chapters that were only 6 days old, as i was unable to read for a week i‘m now missing out till the next Book releases. Seriously, wtf? Fuck this, i‘m out.
Why i still gave the good Rating? It was still such a good Story, that i cant justify less than a 4,5 Star rating, even if i want to strangle the author right now!!!

Fanominal, downright amazing, bafaling in depth and scope. I started reading this over two years ago, and have yet to be disappointed. I've seen some harsh reveiws for UL1, but I love it. yes, it has slow burn elements. yes, it's epic fantasy, and yes, if you look reeeeeelllyy close, and kind of squint, there is a plot hole or two. But as insane as the plot is, i'm here for the charahters. I have read thousands of novels. But UL1 easily places in the top 200 for the depth and complexity of the characters alone. And if that isn't enough to give this series a shot, then hers a spoiler: the fights are downright epic. The stakes are high. Yes, max wins, because he's the OP MC. But every win is earned, he struggles, he despairs, and this book dives into the exploration of the human (and non-human) psyche like it's an Olympic swimming pool. So, if you want an epic fantasy with a side of coming of age/finding oneself, high stakes, love, death, and everything up to and including ascension to godhood, then drop your lame Iseki novel and come read this. Seriously.
Half star off because the story is far from over. I'm waiting, Dad's Bedtime Stories. And I get the feeling it will be worth the wait.
