"I always thought that when my dad left I'd be happy".

The group grew quiet, tired eyes zeroing in on Riley as they waited with baited breath, silently urging.. hoping, she'd speak again.

She did. Ten seconds later. Her hands hugging her knees and eyes glued to the floor, her words being carried along with the waves of the radio.

"I imagined the day countless times. And I prayed", she chuckled lowly, a small sniffle seeping through her words. "Prayed that, someday.. it'd finally come true".

There was a pause before she spoke again, her voice quieter this time, more nonchalant.

"He's gone now.. has been for weeks. I didn't feel happy. Or sad, or relieved.. angry..."

"I didn't feel anything, really".
