Troll in the Dungeon! (Harry Potter/OC-Insert)

Description

A man fills out a CYOA to become a seer. He ends up as Blaise Zabini, the *other* blank slate Slytherin. Definitely not a serious story, mostly written to murder some of my plot bunnies.

Similar enough to be recognizable as the canon story and make foreknowledge useful, but different enough to make things interesting and for the wizarding world to have a bit more depth and complexity than a children's story.
The character writing and their interactions with each other is superb with dialogue that stands out among stories on RoyalRoad much less the fanfic genre. Complex and sometimes conflicting emotions and motivations really flesh out characters and help you empathize with them as full people rather than cardboard cutouts of their character archetypes. They act, react, and grow quite organically and never break character to force outcomes an author might want.
Finally the take on how magic works and is experienced in first person in this story is well done and hints at interesting new ways it could diverge from the canon series as this story develops.
Highly recommend this story to anyone fan of the Harry Potter series, and even to general Isekai readers who aren't Potter fans.

What the title says. I don't have much to say. It's good. It's funny. Read it. Or don't, who am I to tell you what to do?
But honestly just the fact I came out of my comfort zone to write this already says something about this story. I'm not the kind of person who'd just do this kind of thing.

This fanfic seems to be able to give a sense of depth and breadth to th HP universe, something alot of other HP fic fail at. It is a bit more unique in that it revolves around a more little known charactor, Blaise Zabini.
The MC is likable, not OP, realistically shows how someone with a mature mentality should be able to run rings around young teenage children.
The MC isn't a creep and shows good charactor so far.
If you like Harry Potter fanfics, give this one a go.

I admit I haven't read that many HP fics nor have I even finished watching the canon movies but this is possibly the most perfect blend of hilarious and yet charismatic and cunning MC i've read in harry potter fanfic. Seer MC who's not strong but keeps making use of his meta is such fun
    Characters:
Other characters are also very well written and nuanced , which translate to really good dialogues and which I'd say are the best part of this novel and that alone is enough to warrant a 5 star rating
    Style :
Good style. POV switch on rare occasion to flesh out other characters but not too over-reliance on it.
    Story:
story-wise we haven't made that much progress yet but that's fine since we're still less than 300 pages as of this review.
still really good foundation though. there are always hype scene and intriguing dramas which is the mostly harmless kind for now since, well, they're still first year. Looking forward to the higher stake in later volume just like in the canon but honestly it's pretty well written so I'd be fine if it stays as it is, with overabundance of banters and leave the serious plot to Potter too.
    Grammar:
some minor typos but good prose rounded it up to 5 stars

I wasn't expecting much from this little fanfic, I mean HP fanfic .. right another one.. with SI, genderbend characters (not the MC) it's nothing new under the sun and the author himself didn't seems to except much. it's an immense troll but that's where the genius lie, the story feels in a world natural, the mc is clever but in the right way sure there is op cheat and magical bulsh**t but it's wisely done and you can't help but feels attached to all those characters.

Its very fun too see a seer character well done, normally they take out all the stakes of the story, but the character interactions carry it. Love too see a fem harry and have her be an actual person instead of a conquest target. Good job and keep it up

I believe I've already read a good portion of the HP fanfics on this site, and I must say that...
...this is hands down the best fanfic I’ve read on this site! It kept me hooked, and I loved it. Thank you for writing this amazing story—I absolutely adored it! Looking forward to more from you!

Like many Harry Potter fanfics, our main character has knowledge of the future. The unique spin on this story is that he is actually a seer, and results in a pretty interesting exploration of a world where prophecies are real. Plenty of "mundane" uses for foresight, and nobody bats an eye. But the story wouldn't be half as good without the MC, who is quite the troll indeed. Most of the fun comes from character interactions which include: alluding to the future in vague statements to confuse fellow students, treating Professor McGonagall like an actual cat, and now joining a club to showcase his abilities to the fullest (hint: it's not quidditch).

This is up there in HP fanfics on royal road. I can't really speak for other sites so idk but this is fire. The characters are well written and the main character isn't a pedophile which is super awesome but it's kind of sad that even needs to be said. Goat author goat fanfic

This is one of the best Harry Potter ficus I’ve ever read. The MC is mischievous in the best possible way. Also he didn’t follow the typical convention in these types of ficus where the main character skips grades and becomes super powerful because of an adult mind or anything, which adds a ton of realism. Overall a super entertaining read!
