Description
Anne and Tom are scared, alone, and abandoned by even their memories. Their survival is driven by the unusual bond they share and the determination to find out who they are, in a world littered by the ruins of a once-thriving society. But the more they uncover their past, the deeper they find themselves in a deadly power struggle between forces both seen and unseen. Trust is easily misplaced and friends are scarce. Lost, hunted, bleeding, and broken they take the stage in setting the course of history.

- Benjamin MwakonyaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Short answer - this is great, 5/5, read it if you're into dark stories with grim atmospheres and nail biting action.
Long answer:
Style - Presentation is everything, in my opinion and this story is presented like a seamless series of events that build tension all while posing questions for the reader to chew on while the characters progress. Every sentence serves a perspose and none of the prose is wasted on unneeded details. Also, since this is a horror work, I am pleased ro say that no cheap tricks are used. The dread comes solely from the atmosphere and certain key events in the story. This sense of dread is magnified by the almost teasingly low details that are sprinkled throughout the prose and I absolutely love it.
Story - without spoiling anything, the story is about a girl and boy who wake up in a dark, mysterious place without a clue of who they are or where they are. Sounds simple enough, but the author uses their lack of knowledge to ease us into the grim world of "Triplicity". Everything they see and learn, good or bad is delivered with the narrative impact of a jackhammer and I absolutely love it. Im not the biggest fan of flashbacks, but the author weaves strange, dreamlike sequences into the standard prose that doesn't take you out of the moment, and, if anything, those bizarre moments only add to the overall sense of suspense.
Grammer - Not much to say. A few small errors here and there, but not anything problematic enough to take me out of the story.
Characters - Mmm... strangely enough I think this may be the only weakness to the fiction. None of the characters are "Bad" per se, it's just that they are about a simple as can be. (I may be wrong and they may have more depth the further the story gets) but for now Anne and Tom are the only standouts and they don't even have their memories.
I can only count one scene that showed excellent characterization and that's the
Mother's gravesite scene. That was beautiful and... tragic. - GreenerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to say that even from the first few paragraphs I knew I was going to like this story. The dark setting and the lost kids just hooked me right up. As I read along, I understood that I wanted to find out what happened with them, and I ran through all 14 chapters searching for the answers. It was very entertaining.
Style is very engaging with not too much narrative and useless descriptions. There are not too many conversations, and they are used sometimes to break up the tension as well as introduce new elements. Nicely done.
The story has great dynamics, and the tension keeps raising. It might be too early to give it a full thumbs up since at the last chapter posted I feel there is so much more coming. I hope to read more of it really soon.
Characters are a big part of what kept me engaged and wanting to read more. They are easy to connect to and once you realize how much they care for each other, you just want to find out how it will end for them.
The grammar is adequate and I did not see any problems as it did not take away pleasure from reading this story.
All in all, this is something worth following, and I want to see what is coming next. I hope my review encourages the author to keep on writing and posting chapters here.
On another note, I really enjoyed images decorating early chapters. They were just awesome!!! - RabidRabbitReaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0All in all an intense experience. Two kinds eake up in an abandoned lab. No memories. Blood everywhere. They really take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I need to find out how this ends.
Style - The style is an interesting mix using third person omniscient, and first person via thoughts. It needed getting used to but it got me in only a chapter or two! The text flows easily and it sets up a vivid image.
Story - This story is bonkers. You are left just as clueless as the main characters, but learn with them. So their 'oh crap' moments are your 'oh crap' moments! This also means that exposition is kept low and natural.
Grammar - Though part of this story is stated as part of the writathon, I could not find any glaring mistakes. Nothing ever broke my immersion.
Characters - There are few characters as of now, but each one feels very distinct and well crafted. You can feel the care and love between some of the characters. P.s. i would definitely date Kate!
Final thoughts: give this author some love. Why is this book still not discovered? It's not Tolkien... But definitely a diamond in the blood. (wink) - SR FauthRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let me preface this by saying .... daaaaaang. Also this contains spoilers.
Now that that's out of the way, let us begin.
STYLE SCORE 5/5: You have absolutely succeeded in crafting a dark narrative upheld by constant suspense that makes me ache for more. The fact that there is some element of scientific experimentation, a world wide epidemic, and it is all written from a *SPOILER WARNING* childs perspective *SPOILER WARNING* makes this fit together like the best of rubix cubes. You have crafted a gem.
STORY SCORE 4.5/5: Solid, developed story in the making. I couldn't give it a solid five, as there were a metric BOATLOAD of things that have yet to be explained. But this will come in time and I will get back to this and update it when there is a bit more meat on this tale.
GRAMMAR SCORE 4/5: Your grammar and punctuation are impeccable. You have this writing style that lends belief to your words. But dangit, there are random massive paragraphs that just threw me off. They were not deal breakers, by any means, but please plsit them up. They are so out of place that it really threw me for a loop.
CHARACTER SCORE 4.5/5: Your characters are dark, often don't survive long, and are so wrapped in mysteries, boxed in enigmas, and shipped out to myth and legend that I have no idea whats going on. But I do know that I love it and you do it well. My only gripe is that, similar to the Story Score, you need more content before I can render final judgement.
OVERALL SCORE 5/5: Seriously wonderful fiction. Its ogin in my favorites, and I am going to read the crap out of it. And you cant stop me. BWAHAHAHAHA! - Urban Goat HerderRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Anne and Tom put their little feet to the earth attempting to find safety and refuge against the bleek modern exitence. But their path is a horrorific dream scape, where monsters loom, secerts are buried and in the blur of putting togethere a mere existence, the ghosts of the passed haunt their every step.
Over all this story by chapter 8 reminds me of simular atmopshere to, The Bird Cage, or The Quit Place, with less dramatic build up. It has that artistic bent that is quite and yet you are driven to continue with the narrative.
The style is a painting of a bleek world and landscape that two small children wander through i search of hope. Hiding from monsters, and memories they children find comfort where they can, but is there really any comfort in a world thats hanging on by its fingernails?
Grammer is not my best field, but it seems like their could be a little done with the grammar in the dialogue at the least.
Story score, well the story isn't really my style, but it is a popular one in the post apocalyptic space. Slower than I would like, and the act scenes are often a jumbled sense of action rather than a scene.
The plight of the children is what drives this story line. I think that the boy is moderately interesting, and the girl seems to be in a perpetual state of shock, which is heart breaking even if it obfuscates her personality, and characteriztion.
I will most certainly continue to read this story as it develops and make updates to my review as I do. Thank you to the writer for the entertaining story!
