Tricked Into a NewLife, God Must be Screwing With Me!

Description
"Of course my avatar should be female, they have better armor models!" That was George's creed when playing games that allowed for character customization.
Following his completion of a difficult achievement in a popular RPG, George receives a suspicious invitation to join a closed beta for an upcoming project. Against his better judgement he decides to register and starts playing with the character creator. Upon finalizing his character he finds himself whisked away into the world depicted by the game client.
Forced to start over as an infant, and inhabiting the body of his created avatar, George now finds himself attracting the eyes of gods and nobles as he tries to navigate his NewLife(tm) and come to terms with the reality of their situation.
Be advised that the story includes several dark themes as a facet of its world building and character development. Themes include Physical and Emotional abuse of children. Physical, Emotional, and Sexual abuse of adults. Graphic descriptions of torture. Racism and Sexism are also present. I as the author do not condone any of these actions in real life, and they are not portrayed as good things when they come up in the story.

- VictoriaNightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've been reading quite a lot of stories in the last few months, but none has captured my interest so strongly as Tricked. Therefore, I decided to leave my first review on this site.
The plot is engaging, the world building is cool and the protagonist, while smart and powerful, is not invincible and don't just trumps her opponents easily as is the case in so many stories of isekai genre. It's refreshing to see a strong protagonist to be done in a way that she's not Mary Sue. She's actually being a realistic person with her emotions and mistakes rather than a wish-fulfilling avatar of the author.
Political intrigues, noble scheming and behavior, society values is also something that's usually shown on a surface level, but this story does it quite well, in my opinion. In conclusion, I give it 5/5 or whatever the highest rating is and keep reading until the eventual finale. - bridieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Look. This story. I almost missed it because of its score of 4/5 stars. I am so freaking glad I read it. Most stories in this genre are fairly light hearted and flat, but not so here! The characterizations are fleshed out. The style matches the characterizations of the characters giving the narration. And the tone has enough drama to keep me coming back.
My favorite parts of this story:
- Characterizations are rich. Each character, even the minor/supporting cast, have their own traumas motivating their actions, and their dialogue/thoughts/actions appear unique to each one.
- Plot is good, so is pacing. Enough shit happens to make it interesting. Not everything always works out, which is wonderful.
- No OP, at least not OP without cost. Protag cannot just wave away all the ailments of a fucked up feudal kingdom.
- Fucking Dominic. Oh my god, bruh. This character has to be one of my favorites, just watching his nepotistic assholeness and comparing it with how everyone else sees him. Fuck yeah.
In short, I would strongly recommend anyone to read this fiction.
Oh! And the humor is on point. Watching the girl realize she's a girl was phenomenal. The gods are pretty funny too. Just the way that everyone is set up in this world is hilariously entertaining. - camperbeeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0GREAT writing style, world building, character development and interaction.
The system has been well thought through and a slice of op-ness makes this an enjoyable read.
Please author dont drop this and please keep those chaps coming~
I'm not to keen on going on and on about this so just hop in and see for yourselves! - DondokinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think this is a well executed RPG story. Many System style stories drop the ball without having enough plot. In the first arc we are introduced to a few good long term plot hooks that provide a reason for our Mc to grind other than needing to be a power fantasy.
The dialogue and characters have been fun. Some are typical archetypes this far but there's definitely room for growth as they are just kids.
The writing and dialogue are proficient with minimal errors that I noticed.
Overall I enjoyed myself and gave it the follow.
The plot revolves around a gender-swapped prodigy child, who due to some unforeseen circumstances vows revolution. There haven't been too many political moves or the like yet, but we are only on the second arc as of this review, meaning the MC is a little young to be scheming and destroying noble houses and kingdoms yet. - Lictor MagnusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a bit of an advanced review since I've read ahead on scribblehub.
A few weeks ago I happened to see this story on the recent updates and decided to check it out when I saw it had a bunch of tags that I usually enjoy. I expected to it to be another average isekai power fantasy that I could kill time reading, but instead I found one of the best written isekai I've found in quite some time.
The story is a reincarnation litrpg isekai where the MC is going from our world to live a new life use to the machinations of that worlds gods. The MC is well written and the the supporting characters all have enough depth to not make them one note archetypes. The author has obviously put a lot of thought into how this world works and it shows itself in both the lore that we've seen so far and how the system works. The system doesn't activate for everyone so people that have access to it end up a lot stronger, smarter, and more skilled than people that don't have access to it, which adds some tension to social dynamics in the world. The story does have quite a few tragic and violent moments so don't go in thinking it's going to be a happy feel good tale.
The grammar and dialogue are great for the most part. There are a few typos in every chapter but nothing that pulls you out of the narrative. All the characters except for one (who has her reasons), speak naturally and make good decisions based on the info they have at the time, so there's been nothing that makes me cringe or wonder why someone is behaving out of character.
All in all I've enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to seeing how things develop going forward. - Rita152Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This entire story is a beautifully dark masterpiece that has many enticing characters combined with a fleshed-out world that has consistent rules and features. While this story could be considered a tragedy, it would definitely be on the lighter side of such, far from being considered "grimdark"
Every important character here has motivations, differing character traits, goals, and flaws. Even most minor characters have something to distinguish themselves from the crowd. The world set up by Phycholor feels like it could be a real place, and not just something created as the story's backdrop. It's a shame that we only get to see it from the eyes of a select few.
What little action this story has, while passable, is a far cry from the quality the rest of the story. The LitRPG elements do feel a bit forced at times, but their lesser importance in the story offsets that minor issue. There was also a (minor) plot hole I found, but that was both an author oversight rather than an issue in the story itself, and it was easily addressed without having to retcon anything. While I could complain more, any other negative criticism I have would simply be nitpicking.
The characters are well written and varied. First off, we have the protagonist Stahlia, a gender-bent isekai protagonist caught up a game made by the gods, who simply wants to live a peaceful life with her new family/friends until a tragedy drives her to revenge. After said tragedy, she closes herself off for a time and changes into a much colder person who only truly cares about the wellbeing of those she knows, and gains a drive to end those in power for what they've done. Unlike many isekai/gender-bent protagonists, we see Stahlia greatly affected by her new world/sex, and while she does remember her old life, she accepts that there is no going back to it and uses instead uses her old life's memories as a sort of parental figure instead of forgoing it in it's entirety.
We also have Jaqueline, a maid/assassin, who, - ZalrickRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The novel got off to a good start, with an intriguing premise and character, as well as some charming, if somewhat traditional, growing-up cliches. There are several interesting elements about the setting. The protagonist is intelligent and hardworking, and he has access to some excellent instructors.
Apart from the specifics of the premise, this is standard isekai reincarnation fare, although it's done rather effectively. - KulvanoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm bad at writing reviews, because there are so many ways a novel can be good or bad I find it hard to rate novels with a simple 1 to 5 star rating. But I'll try to review this anyways:
Without spoilers, at the end of the first book something... bad... happened that pissed me off so much that I nearly dropped this novel, not because of boredom which is my usual reason for dropping novels, but out of sheer anger at what occured.
I have literally hundreds of novels under my belt, so most of the time reading webnovels my mental state is mostly in "indifference / boredom - mode" with a few enjoyable or interesting moments here that make me continue reading.
It takes A LOT for a novel to have me experience emotions so strong that I interrupt my reading session just to literally jump out of my chair and stomp around my room for a while to give an outlet to those emotions, be it out of surprise, joy, "awesomeness", sadness, or in this case... anger. Hence the title of this review "made me feel emotions/10" which is IMO one of the best praises I can give a novel. - IdentityRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I've read book 1 and 2. After a rather long start book one introduced us to the New Life. The MCs current situation, Antagonists and goals have been somewhat established. Book two introduced new allies and enemies. But even with 2 books done, the story still seems to be at the prologue.
Or as the Gods said, still at the tutorial, she hasn't gotten her starter item after all.
The way this is going right now, seems quite steady. Depending on how the next few books will proceed I'll either add this to my favorites or drop it. Action, adventure and strategy didn't really have their time to shine.
There has been some action, but nothing to write home about. Adventure hasn't been a thing because of restrictions and strategy will most likely be more of a focus in the next few books.
I initially liked this book very much, but the MC has currently been more reactive than active and heading towards a bad ending, or at least seems to, I do hope we'll get to see her be a bit more active.
One problem which I quite disliked were blatant info-dumps, there were blocks of worldbuilding which will most likely become more important in the future but I didn't have the patience to read through it all.
There is also a magic-system which gets elaborated on. Which will most likely turn into a 'cheat', so that might become more interesting.
I did enjoy this story quite a bit, but the grimdark is very heavy and the MC seems to be at a losing streak and considering how it's the first two books with her barely having accumulated any power (in politics and allies at least) I really don't know how this story will go.
I do recommend reading this. Even with the bad bits here and there it had a lot of good moments and everyone should form their own opinion at least. - McReaperkingRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I really enjoyed this story and world. The MC was a bit of a pain to read when it came to a certain charmer but honestly I can handwave it away with hormones.
The MC does get a little too forgiving in the latter arcs of the story so that would be my main problem, it feels like half her secrets are gossip material and she really needs to keep an eye on whom to trust and forgive
