Q/A:
Is this your first attempt at writing a novel?Yes, this is my first attempt at writing a novel. English isn't my first language, so I would appreciate any help pointing out grammar mistakes and other errors. I'm excited to share the world I've been building since my teenage years.
What can readers expect in terms of progression? The first arc, consisting of roughly 50 chapters, will introduce the main characters, the power system, and some world-building concepts. Following this, the story will be packed with action, adventure, numerous battles, mysteries, and clever plots.
What should I expect from the story's pacing and focus? The novel has a slow-to-medium burn pace. It is character-focused, with a rich blend of world-building. Some details will be revealed through dialogues, while others will emerge from the background composition. Think of it like an orchestra: the characters are the main instruments, with the world-building, power systems, and society forming a slow-burning backdrop.
What makes this novel unique? The power system is based on psychological aspects such as personality, traits, and flaws. It incorporates duality, meaning nothing is static or set in stone. A weaker character can defeat a stronger one by exploiting the opponent's flaws and traits, emphasizing strategic thinking.
What are the tones of the story? The story has its dark elements, exploring societal struggles and madness. However, I also love the sense of adventure and fun, so readers can expect some lighter, humorous moments.
How long are the chapters? Each chapter is approximately 2000 words.
What is the chapter release schedule?I aim to release at least five chapters a week.

- lorenzodangelo306Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0(First, english isn't my first language, so sorry in advance).
For me the reading was worthy my time. It felt different! We have a writing that focus on exploring details, feelings, description. And we have the elements of the story, like the System that's a symbiotic being, the concepts and the awakenings!
The worldbuilding is a bit vague, but I think its good, because it doesnt overwhelm the reader. Like, there are not a lot that we know about it.
I'm hyped for the second arc. Also, I must mention the characters, they are amazing, Joah being my favorite. There are mysteries too, like the 'Fool', the Eruption and others characters. One thing that really amazed me was the battle, specially the battle in the Awakening of Asdras.
The quality of writing, I can’t say much, since I am not a expert myself, but I had fun, so that’s what matters to me.
The only thing I would say is negative is the frequency of releasing. I have finished the first arc but I see that the second arcs only has few chapters. It’s sad. Other thing I noticed was the few readers, I think this novel deserves more readers!
Good work! I'm followiing it! - OmniLightningRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A well-written fantasy with a new take on old concepts. The story has a poetic, almost musical feel that keeps readers engaged and immersed in their world. The story of a “traveler” is promised in the synopsis, and the writer does not disappoint. From the very start, the protagonist has a past shrouded in mystery that must be discovered and a supporting cast with their own journeys that may, or, may not coincide with the protagonists. A must-read for anyone seeking a new fantasy world to be immersed in.
Style: A slow burn with plenty of world and character-building. Enjoyable from the start. The author provides plenty of exposé to ensure the reader isn’t lost. A smooth combination of poetry and prose that paints emotions and scenery for the reader.
Grammar: There are very few issues to be ironed out.
Character: Very realistic and relatable characters. The protagonist, Asdras, brings a calm, cool, and collected feel to a story that is otherwise evocative. The supporting cast is grounded in their world and emotions, each with their own unique personality.
Story: A great story with poetic undertones. The reader is immersed in a new fantastical world with plenty of mystery to be discovered and tastefully written characters that are relatable. - StudioBunBugRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an excellent and well-built piece of fantasy, with a rich and detailed world that reveals its secrets only to hint at more. The poetic prose is best enjoyed as a rhythmic build up to a set piece, punctuated by dialogue.
Style - word choice in every case seems intentional, and there are themes to the words chosen that build up over the course of numerous chapters to a compelling crescendo. The fight scenes are some of the best I’ve read.
Story - the setting is dark, but there are bastions of hope and light between the shadows. Each chapter is a new surprise, although it’s not initially always clear how they fit together, it is eventually revealed.
Grammar - aside from some unusual punctuation and the occasional confusion over word choice, the story is well-formatted and comprehensible. There was one chapter I found hard to follow, but the story is being edited in an ongoing way and I was able to pick up at the next chapter with no problems.
Character - even the characters who have no name continue to the mood and atmosphere of the piece, and a named character is almost always relevant later on in a surprising way. - Zamora de LeonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An adventure in its truest sense, rich with lore and fraught with danger.
Reading Traveler's Will felt like cracking open one of the fantasy novels I grew up on. It gave me a similar feeling as the The Name of the Wind. Maybe it's the beautiful prose, painting vivid image after image in my mind, or the slowly unfolding world and magic system. All I can say is, I am hooked. I absolutely recommend this to any fans of the fantasy genre.
Style: I am absolutely taken with the author's poetic style of writing. The settings are described with so much care that it almost feels like I'm there. There is a musicality to the way he writes, which makes it flow wonderfully. And the dialogue! It feels very natural, and is used masterfully both to give more information about the world (without info-dumping!) and to add personality to the characters.
Story: It is a slow build, but I love a slow build. Discovering this world, its quirks and systems, is reward enough to continue--but as you do, you're hit with this growing sense of danger. The author does this really well. You feel like you are embarking on a journey with these two boys, and yet you begin to worry for their safety even before they do.
Grammar: At least up to where I have read, I haven't encountered any grammar issues. But I am not picky about this in general, as long as I can understand what is being said. And I have understood every line!
Characters: Usually, when you have many characters moving in and out of the narrative, it can be hard to make them distinct. This is absolutely not a problem with this story. Everyone introduced has their own personality, their own way of speaking and doing things, and they are each memorable in their own way. The relationship between Brian and Asdras is particularly well done; I really believe that these two are friends, and they play off each other well. - dainxxonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0STYLE:
The world-building was great and not confusing. The mystery behind Asdras’ character would definitely hook the viewers to know more, It has a great yet simple story-telling that makes it fun to read. I highly recommend it.
STORY:
The story was intriguing. Its world-building was perfect and wasn’t info-dumping to the readers that could get them overwhelmed. The plot was a bit slow-paced but it was enjoyable that readers wouldn’t actually mind.
GRAMMAR:
The way it was written was scratching a part of my brain real good. It turns out English is not the writer’s native language and yet they were able to share this story with beautiful narration. It was written detailed enough and the words used were not repetitive. Reading it felt like I was travelling with Asdras and Brian in this magical world.
CHARACTER:
So far, Asdras is a likeable character, despite being filled with mystery. The rest of the characters also have their own unique traits, personalities and dilemma that their existence wasn’t just merely there to support the main character, which makes them interesting individuals.
Overall, a fun adventurous story. It was an addicting read! Thank you for sharing it as I was completely hooked! - longwindedone1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This review will be based on the first seven chapters of Traveler's Will. I apologize, in advance, for any spoilers.
Story:
This story follows the MC, Asdras in a post apocalyptic world. After being taken in by priest named Joe, Asdras begins to train for a life of survival. His village braces for an impending military draft. Asdras and his friend, Brian, form a deep bond. Alongside Raffin, a seller and world traveler, they set out from the village to seek their future. They encountering supernatural threats. I like many facets of this story. From the story itself to how the story is written. I enjoy the naming of the characters and chapter, to the looming mystery surrounding the main character.
Style:
This story's tone is mostly somber (but in a fitting way), with a large helping of mystery. It explores themes of friendship and survival. There are definite mystical elements - of a world in constant danger from dark forces. It is written in third person point of view. And though you mostly get Astra's perspective, the story does occasionally branch out and focus on Brian and Father Joe's thoughts and feelings. Again, sometimes you read something that matches with how you would structure something, and that is how I felt with this story.
Grammar:
I listen to all of my RR books on the app. I did the same with this story, and in doing so, I didn't notice any errors that took me out of the story. So kudos to the author on this front.
Characters:
I've already mentioned the MC, Asdra. I mentioned Father Joe and Brian. I briefly talked about Raffin, who delivers things around the area and he also tells stories (he reminds me of a few characters -one in Dragonlance and one in the Godborn). Also there is Miss Ellena who teachers in the village. I think it was Brian who "likes" her, but the chapter doesn't get into his romance too much. The best interactions are between Asdra and Brian. They are funny and provide a warmth to the story (especially in the darker moments).
Overa - Ana87Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Traveler's Will: Chronicles of the Lost Worlds stands out for its immersive narrative, meticulous world-building and poetic prose that grips the reader from the very first chapter in which you find yourself immersed in a vibrant and enigmatic universe, where every detail seems to whisper a secret yet to be discovered. Although the story is clouded with a certain darkness, the beauty of its language makes it an almost hypnotic experience.
The strongest aspect of this novel is undoubtedly its style. The evocative descriptions create vivid images and envelop the reader in an almost tangible atmosphere. However, this richness in language slows down the narrative pace at times, taking some distance from the main action. Still, the natural dialogue and details of the world lend authenticity to the story. I felt that behind each word a vast universe unfolded, and that advancing in the reading was like going deeper and deeper into its mysteries.
This also means that key information is revealed little by little. At the beginning, we follow a protagonist who, on his journey, meets different characters with whom he will form significant bonds. The action sequences are well done, with a dynamic and fluid rhythm, while the quiet moments, such as life in the village, are a delight for their level of detail.
We don't know much about Asdras' past, however his personality and the circumstances in which he is found make up for this lack of information and I could easily connect with him. His dynamics with the rest of the characters are well crafted and the author manages to define their identities through their dialogue and gestures, making each interaction seem authentic. It is an ideal story for readers who enjoy inhabiting fictional worlds and traveling along with the characters without any rush.
One detail that surprised me was discovering that the author is not a native English speaker, which is also my case. I myself make mistakes in punctuation and vocabulary, but here the pro - BrokenAmbitionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading this work. The way the author writes is quite similar to my own style and it instantly peaked my curiosity. I'll continue reading until I am caught up with the story and see if that effects the scores I am about to give, This review is made at around the halfway point.
Style: It's a well executed style that leans heavily into building up the world around the characters and making sure the reader can feel connected with the scenes taking place. Sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming in the first few chapters, however it quickly becomes something much more refined and one of the greatest charms of this work!
Story: Absolutely a gem, the author has made the story have enough of a mystery surrounding the main character Asdras that you feel compelled to figure it out within a few chapters. It has a magic system that requires an ''awakening'' before it can be used. A bit of a slower paced story, however well worth the time to read,
Grammar: The author has stated before that English is not his first language. I originally started reading with the mindset to cut him some slack on this section. However, the writing skill he has shown after the first few chapters have made me change my mind. There are a few mistakes anyone could make, but I have faith the author will rectify them all. And when that time comes he will have the final star in this category. ;)
Characters: The strongest point of this story. Each character is well developed with their own unique style and quirks. The main character is likeable as well as the cast forming around him. I have no complaints, fantastic job.
Overall: A fun story which will make you want to binge it after reading a few chapters. The author should feel proud of his work. - Gabrielle CharlotteRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Edit: Got the chance to read a bit further ahead!
Immersive and atmospheric, the author does a great job establishing the setting and really making the world feel lived in. There's great care taken to introduce the protagonist in detail, though many of the characters lean towards observation and setup rather than active decision-making. That said, with further context, I think the point of the introduction becomes clear, and I appreciate the origin-story the more that I read.
The characters are likable, which is important given that the story doesn't necessarily start out with a bang; it takes its time getting to know the characters, establishing their dynamics, and giving you a chance to really enjoy their world and their day-to-day struggles.
The pacing here is similar to Wheel of Time, in that you get to spend a lot of time with the characters before the proverbial shit hits the fan, as it were. I guess 'slow-burn' is the right term here on RR? In any case, the author does this well, and originally, I had mentioned that I wanted more action. Having read more, I think that this is an appropriate amount of it given the style of story being told. An important reminder to update your reviews as you read more!
Overall, the writing itself seems to get stronger as the story goes along, though it was pretty strong to begin with. I don't see any over-the-top issues with it, or any that are particularly distracting, if they're there. I'm looking forward to reading more and I'll try to update my review again in the future! - Immortal PeregrinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Traveler’s Will: Chronicles of the Lost Worlds is a tale of a cursed boy’s adventure through a rich and vibrant world. The descriptions are intriguing, the world-building fascinating, and the characters enthralling.
STYLE:
The story is written in a poetic, descriptive style that triggers the theatre of the reader’s mind, painting surreal immersive images. However, the rest of the story is not as poetic as the beginning chapters, settling into a flowing prose.
STORY:
It’s a slower paced story that takes its time to build up the characters and world. There’s a power system that remains mysterious where I am, with elements that draw my attention and fill me with anticipation. There is talk of Eruptions, exorcists, deliverers, etc that hint at the world’s depth.
GRAMMAR:
No issues with the grammar. I suggested a few changes but they’re not enough to warrant reducing the stars. It’s excellent as is, far better than many other stories on this site.
CHARACTERS:
There’s a large cast of characters, yet every single one is memorable and distinct. Each has their own personality and style that shows through well enough. No problems with this.
Overall, it’s a great story with good world-building and distinct characters. If you like prose that tugs at your heartstrings and engages your visual mind, you’ll surely like this story.
