It's an intriguing story with a promising plot. Good grammar, great premise and the worldbuilding keeps you guessing, which, personally, I like. Definitely better than having information just dumped all over you.
I'm giving character score 4.5 stars because we haven’t met that many characters yet. Though I'm not complaining about the few we have.
I especially find the mc, Kyro, (future Transcendent Sorcerer, I'm guessing) interesting. The story includes a lot of his internal thought process so you can get in his head and critique his decision making. Which, for a teenage orphan (awww), I guess, is... aligning. (I couldn't think of a better word).
For story score, a lot of elements are introduced from the get go, but not to a suffocating extent. You can tell the story is a slow burn, which is a ding for some, but I like it fine enough. The fact that it's not predictable also works well in its favor.
I won't include spoilers but I'm curious to see how author resolves some of the plot lines already established. I also want to explore every bit of Kyro's journey, not limited to, but including his personal relationships. I didn’t see the romance tag so maybe that's not in his future?
I guess I'd be okay with that but just please let him make some friends, other than the neighbourly aqcuintance... and the black cat, I guess. He just seems pretty lonely.
Or is it intoversion? Sigh.
I guess the only nitpick I have is the relatively short chapter length but other than that... kudos, Shade Wauke! Can't wait to follow Kyro’s journey and progress.
Btw I've only read the first few chapters available (about 6) so choose to read or not read with that in mind.
